Going to hell. Can I save you a seat?

DISCLAIMER: This is my blog. I am a person who fancies herself
pretty funny. Snarky. And even a flat out smart ass. What I create is
never intended to offend, but ultimately I have no control over
how you choose to interpret my art. Proceed with caution,
and with your big girl/boy panties on.
There, I said it. Or I wrote it. Whatever. It's out.
Yesterday was Easter, and in honor of the first zombie ever,
I have created a small tribute in his likeness.
I was inspired to create said homage by the new challenge at
Haunted Design House - Going Green With Envy.

Yup. I went there.
It is no big secret that I don't lend much credence to organized religion.
I wasn't indoctrinated into a religion as child, and have never been able
to wrap my head around giving myself over to a higher power.
I do, however, consider myself somewhat spiritual.
And that works for me.

Anyhoo, I found this guy at my local thrift store, and
after my giggles of insane inspiration subsided, I got to work
making him into the true zombie he was always meant to be.

After several coats of various acrylic paints and washes,
he was complete. And far more interesting than the way
that I originally found him.

While straightening, and purging my workspace I happened
upon this tiny dancer. Also a thrift store find.

After the official "Creepy Zombie Concoction" has been applied,
she is the star of the zombie ballerina recital.

Thanks to this challenge theme, I have been inspired to start painting the
numerous statues and figurines I have been collecting. I have some cows,
a trio of babies, and even a Buddha that are all dying to be zombified and given
a new life. Most of which will end up in my Etsy shop by the end of the month.

Remember to stop by the HDH blog to check out all of the incredible art that
my fellow Minions have created for this inspiring challenge.

Zombies, zombies, and more zombies!!!!

Last week would have been my Mom's 66th Birthday.
Kinda screwed up my week. I didn't even buy milk last week
cause the expiration date was her birth date. I know, lame.
But it's getting really rough around the holidays. Xmas was her favorite holiday.
She used to bake dozens of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies from scratch
every year. Besides her, I think I'll miss those cookies the most.

So to bring me out of my funkity funk, I have been coloring and trying
to create cool schtuffs. One of my recent highlights has been making a new
friend in Deb at Dragon Wings and Fairy Things. I have found a
kindred spirit in Deb. She has been a stalker of mine for a while now,
so I felt it was safer to befriend her, rather than getting a restraining order. LOL!
We decided to swap some RAK, and Deb spoiled me with so many cool
things, but the gem of the swap were some rubber stamps that I had been
coveting for over a year.
Zombie Wedding

Zombie Birthday

Zombie sentiments

After receiving these insanely awesome stamps, I decided to try to track them down
here in the states (I thought they were only available in Canada). They are put out
by Art Gone Wild, and I found them available through Scrapbooking Warehouse.
They also had the best prices, too.

I just received the remaining four sets.
Zombie Graduation

Zombie Dance

Zombie Heads

Zombie Beach

Flippin' awesome, huh?
I love them!! And I can't wait to ink them all up.
So far, I have only made two cards using the sets that Deb sent me.

My FIL had a birthday on Sunday.
I hope he didn't mind the RIP charm.
Argh! I just realized I forgot to add the pom pom
onto the end of his hat! I hate it when I do that.

This is a total foreign color scheme for me, but I think it
conveys a masculine birthday feel. Kinda circus-y, but it works.

Out of all of the sets, this little lady is my absolute favorite!
I just love her under bite!!!
Of course I decked her out in pink and sparkles. She is a bride after all.

Well, the pink actually has more to do with the sentiment.
Another great sentiment from Ginger's House.

I received some Frantage from Deb. I love the look of this stuff, but
I just don't know when to stop! Does anyone else have issues with the
paper/card stock warping from heat embossing? I had to mount this card
onto another card front, and weigh it down with heavy stuff to get it
to appear only slightly less wonky. This happens to me every time I heat emboss.
Any suggestions?

Anyway, hope you enjoyed my Zombie cards.
I had a blast making them. I hope to have more made very soon.
I'm seeing a Zombie in a Santa hat......

Repurposed bottles for Hallowe'en

I am fortunate enough to have friends and family who enjoy
a stiff drink every so often (or every few minutes, as the case may be),
and are willing to save their empty liquor bottles for me.

They finally stopped asking me what I wanted them for, and
now they dutifully save them without questions.

These Makers Mark bottles are my favorite.
The dripping "wax" is perfect for Hallowe'en.
One less step for me.

I usually remove all of the labels, but thought this one might be used
in the design somehow. I love these little Patron bottles. I got a whole set
of Patron samplers for Xmas last year. The coffee liqueur is the only one left.

Due to time constraints, I opted to transform a couple of Starbucks bottles,
as opposed to my coveted  Patron and Makers Mark bottles.

After washing and drying the bottle(s) thoroughly, I added some drops
of alcohol ink to the insides of each bottle. I swished it and swirled it until
the entire inside was covered to my liking. Now I had one purple, and one
orange bottle. I also painted the lids with black gesso.

Using the SBS image, Collette, I have made her into
a bottle label for what else? Morgue Body Lotion.
Not sure if it's intended for the living, or if it's just made out
of morgue bits. Either way, I'll pass on the moisturization..
The label stamp(s) is from Inkadinkado.

There's our pretty lady, Collette, getting her fill of innards,
or unravelling brain matter.

And what is a creepy bottle without a brain accent?

The days of warty witches seems to be a thing of the past.
The dawn of the beautiful, and flawless witch is upon us!

Used another SBS image, Steampunk Jack and Jill,
for this bottle. I just colored her up, scanned and reduced her
to make her the right size for the label/bottle.

I just added some ribbon, cheesecloth (for the spider's web),
another Inkadinkado stamp for the label, and a plastic
spider with some pewter distress ink on it, to finish this bottle.
Oh, and glitter. Lots of glitter on the lids. And on my hands, and face,
and clothes, and floor. Good thing I love sparkly stuff.

SBS is sponsoring us at HDH for the current challenge.
Drop by and check out what the other Minions have made
using SBS images for the theme of "Zombies and Classic Creeps".

Thanks for stopping by today.

Virtual Zombie Walk 2012

The day has finally arrived!
Today is the day that we, zombie lovers, get to show our love for the undead.
Now I show my love of zombies as much a possible all year long, but this
is a more organized and structured event, featuring TONS of blogs to check out.
The entire list of "walkers" will be at the end of this post.

Firstly, I am a crafter, and may even be considered an artist, if the wind blows just right.
I have handcrafted all of my Zombified offerings today.

This is a polymer clay zombie skull ornament. I have sculpted the skull from
polymer clay and then I added an acrylic wash to help bring out the details.
He is part of a set of Hallowe'en themed Creepmas ornaments I am working on.
The tombstones are also a part of that line of ornies.
They will all be available in my Etsy shop very soon.

This little putrescent beauty is a re purposed statue I picked up
at a local thrift shop.

I completely repainted her in acrylic paints, and then worked my "Zombie Magic"
on her to bring out her undead qualities.
Her eyes have been painted with glow in the dark paint so you can
tell if she's staring at you in the dark.

Lastly, I have made this killer Zombie Virus step card!
I've used three awesome zombie digital images from
the uber talented, Rick St. Dennis.
Today is also the "Spooky or Sweet Hallowe'en" challenge over at the

This image is called, Let's Pahrtay!
Perfect for the Zombie loving birthday boil or ghoul!

This is the Zombie Beauty Queen image, complete with
blotchy bruising and partially skinned cranium.

And this is your Classic Zombie.
Looks like he just stepped out of "Night of the Living Dead".

Side view of my card. I went with a step card to accommodate all of the
images I wanted to use. I think it turned out pretty damn cool!!

Thanks for shambling by today.

ZOMBIES RULE!!!

Ahhhh, ...to be young again.

If I could do it all over again,  I would still marry the same man,
but we would be having a Hallow e'en or a Zombie/horror themed wedding.
My in-laws (the Pentecostals) would be thrilled.
My best friend's niece is getting married in a few weeks and
requested a custom wedding cake topper for her wedding.
Here it is.
I really am quite pleased with myself.

I had to really rein in my tendency to go really bloody.
It is for a wedding after all. And not even a zombie themed
wedding at that.

See, nice and subtle.
She loved her topper and I am glad. Now I don't have to give her a
wedding gift! Ha!

Since I was kind of on a roll, I went with the mojo and made some
more zombified goodies.

This was the second choice topper if Kara didn't like the first one.

"I don't care if you are a zombie, we're getting married!"

I just love how his fingers are digging into the ground!
And yet he is still smiling.

We all know that Disney is not sacred to me (see this post),
so when I saw this unpainted Donald at a local discount store
I had to pounce!
Just what do you think he has in that tool box of his?
I really like how this one turned out.

Zombunnies!!!!

Zombie St. Nick

And another one....

...and another.

I'll be listing or have already listed, all or most of the
above pieces in my Etsy shoppe.
You can also comment or email me directly, if you are
looking for a custom piece for someone special or for the
most awesome Hallow e'en or Christmas gift ever!!

And that's what I've been up to lately.
How you doin'?
