Wretched Wednesday HDH104- I Was Framed!

Happy haunted hump day!
I am here to amaze and inspire you to play along with us this week for
HDH's Macabre Monday "I was framed!" challenge.

We are sponsored this week by
The challenge is very simple, use a frame or frames
in your project. Easy right?

I decided to use the Voodoo Doll #3 image after much deliberation.
There are so many neat, odd, and unique images to chose from
on the Dilly Beans site!

Now isn't he a handsome one?!
I opted for the dot technique after I picked up the
wrong shade of BV to add some shading to his nose.
I went way too dark, but managed to salvage the image with some
strategically placed textural dots. Nice save!

I used some of the awesome new Tim Holtz Kraft  Resist
Hallowe'en paper along with some old scraps I needed
to use up. The Corpse Dust label was part of a digital collage
sheet I bought on Etsy a few years ago.

And then there's these guys.

The March of the Candy Corns has begun!!!

These little guys are in need of homes.
Please visit my Etsy site for adoption information.
Did I mention that they glow in the dark?
Well, they do.

Creepy Cool Yule

The concept of making holiday cards all year long
is one that makes perfect sense. How nice to have all
of your cards ready to mail by Dec. 1st., as opposed
to making cards right up until Xmas eve?
Been there, done that.

There is a cool blog called,
and they have weekly challenges to help inspire you
to  create your holiday cards throughout the year.
I haven't really played along much, since the
thought of dragging out my Christmas supplies
before Hallowe'en is sort of blasphemous in my mind.
But...

I managed to combine the two, and created this
killer little holiday card.
I used a creepy, stitched up elf image from

I used some vellum and an EK web punch, some Stickles,
and some matching ribbon. The dp was already sparkly, so
it all played nice together. I colored the main image in a
monochromatic color scheme (using G82, 94, and 99) so I could
play along at CSAYL this week with their mono outbreak.

Thanks for stopping by today.
I'll be back on Wednesday with my Macabre Monday
project using another Dilly Bean image.

HDH103 Carnival of CuRioSiTieS

I'm finally here with my submission for this week's
"Carnival of CuRioSiTieS".

It all started with a hoarded pop corn bag.
"Hello, my name is Gloria, and I am a hoarder."
I have had that pop corn bag for a few years. A local gift
shop uses these for their purchase bags and I knew it would
come in handy some day.

These lovely bottles and jars are from an "Itkupilli"
digital collage sheet. So cool!!

I got pretty fancy here, using a repurposed net bag
as a curtain, and then covering my staples with a
edge punched scrap of the pop corn bag.
I'll just go ahead and bust myself out and tell you
I totally stapled the top of my card shut when I added my fancy
punched valance at the top. Nice.
I also added a Recollections glittery spider web and some
fancy beaded things from Wild Orchid to give the
illusion of a spray of bubbles and beverage coming
from the weird bottle of creepiness.

And then we have "Kolossal" from
She is perfect as a side show barker dontcha think?

There is still time to play along with this week's challenge

Skellie group shot

I am new to the awesome digis from
I am a fan. A big fan.

This is the "Dunce Cap Skellies" image.
Saw it. Had to have it.

Fun to color, but I kinda blew it on the "shiny" parts. I used a white
gel pen that decided to take a nap on me and stopped working about
halfway through. I ended up using glitter to help camouflage the shiny bits.
I used the banner die from My Favorite Things and hand wrote the
happy birthday. Wish I had thought to typeset it before the cutting,
but oh well.

Thanks for dropping by!

HDH102 Queen of the Damned Wretched Wednesday

It's Wednesday already?!
Man, this month is just flying by!

This week at HDH, the challenge is
"Queen of the Damned".
Think royalty, crowns, thrones, and the like.
I decided to make my own Queen of sorts...

This is "Zombie Kellita" from Tickled Pink Stamps.
Really? Like you thought I wouldn't snag this little chickie
the second she went on the digi list at TP?

She's wonderful!!! In all her zombified loveliness!!
I had a blast coloring her in and giving her my favorite
YG shades of zombie pallor, and BG hair.

I used the "Bleeding Cowboys" font to set the type for
the sentiment, and mounted it on a fancy label from Spellbinders.

I topped off the undead Kellita with a random crown stamp
I had in my stash. Threw in a few rhinestones to keep her
purdy, and we are fini!!

I am entering this project at
I didn't use an Octopode image,
but at least I managed to play along, finally!

There is still plenty of time to join in on the
Macabre fun over at HDH too!!!
Thanks for stopping by!!

Happy Birthday to Mommy's little Zombie!

Twelve years ago today,
my life changed forever.

I became a Mother and learned what it meant to
fall in love at first sight and to love unconditionally.

My son, Gryphon Hunter is the coolest kid I know.
He is intelligent, unique, artistic, hilariously witty, and
a neat kid to hang out with. I often forget that he is still a kid.

And he still lets me dress him up for
Hallowe'en.

He (and his Dad) have made me a better person just by
showing me love and compassion. They have taught me
the true meaning of family.
Seriously, I was a real piece of work before the boys came
along.

My husband and I just celebrated our 15th Wedding Anniversary
on Wednesday. We are high school sweethearts, and we've actually
been together for 24 years.
He loves me, despite me. I'm a real lucky lady.

Goin' out of town for a few days to celebrate.
I need some ocean air....

HDH101 Kreepy Kids

Wow, I just want to take a moment and
thank everyone who took the time to hop
with us last week.
We had a really good showing from the
creepier side, and even some "norms" braved the hop as well.
I am glad we could all come together in the name of Vincent.

This week we have what most think, is a fun challenge.
Show us your kreepy kids!
No, not the ones you gave life to, but the ones that reside, neglected
in your craft room. Maybe they didn't start out kreepy, but
I'm sure you can figure out a way to make them
into less than desirable little people.

I did....
Sort of a public service announcement if you will.

Took me a few minutes to come up with the perfect sentiment.
Once I did, everything else fell right into place.

I got these wonderfully wretched images from
Just a little fussy cutting and some pop dots
and this critter is creeped out!

I have had this wonderful array of horrible images
for quite some time, so I guess that's a destash right there.
I also have a bunch of vintage Hallowe'en images, and some new
"Curio Cabinet Curiosities", that I just had to have.
I won't wait this long to use them though.

You still have plenty of time to put something
wretched and kreepy together for our challenge this week
All the kreepy cool kids are doing it!

Fairy Clarabelle Birthday Wish

One of my favorite artists is
Annie Rodrigue,
who creates for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.

This is "Clarabelle" from Annie's line of faeries,
released earlier this year at Kraftin Kimmie Stamps.

I wanted to keep a very summery feel to this card.
I used some green and pink distressing inks to
distress my card in a bright, less vintage way. I also used the
same inks to paint the background around the fairy.

I destashed with this cool, epoxy clip which I have had way too long.
Looks good and adds that much needed sentiment.
I used my scissors and a sanding block to rip and distress all of the
edges on each of the layers.

Lastly, I destashed a bit more and used these flocked
brads. Adds nice texture and interest to the card.

I would like to enter this card in the current challenges at

Congratulations to
Lady B

Emerald Faeries Boo and Snookie

One of my favorite lines of images is from

This is 'Boo and Snookie'.

I'm not really sure who is who, but they look really cute together!
I have had the snail colored for months and finally decided to
bring everyone to life with the magic of Copics!

I used lots of Stickles, 'cause faeries are supposed to sparkle.

I used a metal wing brad sprayed with homemade Glimmer Mists
and added it to the banner dies from MFT.
I hadn't used these before, but I love the way they look and
plan to use them way more!

I also used a Spellbinder die for the center shape and
more corner die cuts from Sizzix, highlighted with
"Patina" colored Stickles.
I really like how this card turned out and I am
going to enter it in the following challenges:

Minky Girl!!!

One of my newer Stampotique stamps is
called, "Minky Girl".
Isn't she lovely?
Well, I think she's simply divine!

The current challenge over at
"Red, Orange, and Yellow".
Next to the color blue, those are probably the colors
I use the least often.
Talk about a challenge!

I stamped, heat embossed, and colored "Minky" with Copics.
I used some Tim Holtz Distress Inks (loving these!) to paint the
background around the image to match the bg paper. I also
(over) used them to distress the whole thing and give it a grungy feel.
I added some chipboard fleurs and some red half pearls to tie it all
together  and give it more interest and balance.

I threw in a pretty fleur for the first picture,
but found that it made the red in the card appear more pink.
I took out the pretty fleur and want to submit this for the aforementioned,
