Always ODD

I managed to find my way back to my blog!
And I made some cool schtuff, too!

I've been dying to play along in some swaps and challenges.
I miss participating in themed challenges. I find the prompts so helpful
when I don't know which way to go when crafting.

I finally played along with one of my favorite challenges at
The theme this month is 
Goblins, Fairies, and Ghouls, Oh My! 

I love Lizzy's artistic take on fairies and zombies.
She has such a cute and adorable way of drawing weird shit.
I love it. 
This little rotting lass is called, Fiona Feary. 

I matched her up with a fun sentiment stamp from 
Viva Las Vegas stamps.

I'm always trying to use up paper scraps and projects left for dead.
This card base has been in a stack for months if not years.
I know, kinda gross that I have schtuff lying around for years, but
in my defense, it was chaotically organized and I always knew of it's presence.    

I added some die cut elements that were in keeping with her
color scheme. I love me some BG and BV Copic markers.

 Kept it really simple by cutting a black doilie in half,
and then cutting one of the halves in half. I layered it all
and glued them in three spots for a nice background.
My new thing is Nuvo drops. I just wish they dried faster.
I added a bunch for that sparkle element that I can't seem to
ever leave out of any fairy project. Dead or not, she's gotta have bling.

Let them eat... an eyeball cupcake?

I have an Aurora Wings Showcase project to share with you today.
Mitzi has once again drawn an incredibly lovely, and detailed image.

This time she has re-imagined Marie Antoinette. How fun, right?
Well, you know I can't have anything nice, so it should come as no 
surprise that this is what I did to poor Marie. 

She's still quite a stunner with her undead pallor, 
dontcha think? 

I used Violet hues for her skin tone, making sure to give her
sunken eye sockets and sunken cheeks.

I decided to go all out with her hair color. I chose to use
YGs and BGs in her incredible tresses to provided good
contrast with the adornments in her hair. I used Stickles in Glam Pink
and Crystal, for that bling factor on the beads and feather. 
Marie (alive or dead) was quite a fancy, and elegant woman.  
Fancy = Bling.

I have joined the Tim Holtz masses and finally picked up the weathered clock die.
LOVE it! I chopped this one in half, distressed it with ink, and applied Rock Candy Stickles 
for more ... wait for it, ... BLING! 

For the final piece de resistance, I couldn't fight the urge to
add a googly eye to the cupcake. Kinda silly, but what else
would you expect from me?
I love the silliness of it in the middle of this very serious card.
Yeah, right. 'Cause an undead Marie is just so serious! Ha!

The dp is from MME Lost and Found Two.
It's aged with TH distress inks and again, I have 
added Stickles, this time in Diamond, to each panel.
More bling is bettah!

Strega in the DICC

Today I'd like to share my card for the new 
Rick St. Dennis is sponsoring the challenge,
and I get to be a guest DT as a fringe benefit.

I jumped at the chance to color up, and create with 
one of Rick's newest "dark" images, Strega. 

Isn't she lovely? And oh, so deadly....
I liked the iris-less version 
(she comes with both versions when purchased here),
 since it played to my love of cartoons and comic style drawings.

I just went for it, as far as my color palette. 
She reminded me of an 80's style pop princess, 
hence the bright, bubble gum, color scheme. 

I used skulls-her earrings, hand colored satin roses, 
lots of Stickles glitter, and embossing, from the 
list of challenge choices. 

It was fun to create using set choices from the challenge.
I spend way too much time putting my creations together,
so it was nice to have only so many options to choose from.
I'll be playing along again, very soon.

Virtual Zombie Walk 2012


The day has finally arrived!
Today is the day that we, zombie lovers, get to show our love for the undead.
Now I show my love of zombies as much a possible all year long, but this
is a more organized and structured event, featuring TONS of blogs to check out. 
The entire list of "walkers" will be at the end of this post.
 
 
Firstly, I am a crafter, and may even be considered an artist, if the wind blows just right.
I have handcrafted all of my Zombified offerings today.
 
This is a polymer clay zombie skull ornament. I have sculpted the skull from
polymer clay and then I added an acrylic wash to help bring out the details.
He is part of a set of Hallowe'en themed Creepmas ornaments I am working on.
The tombstones are also a part of that line of ornies.
They will all be available in my Etsy shop very soon.   

This little putrescent beauty is a re purposed statue I picked up
at a local thrift shop.

I completely repainted her in acrylic paints, and then worked my "Zombie Magic"
on her to bring out her undead qualities.
Her eyes have been painted with glow in the dark paint so you can
tell if she's staring at you in the dark. 

Lastly, I have made this killer Zombie Virus step card!
I've used three awesome zombie digital images from
the uber talented, Rick St. Dennis.
Today is also the "Spooky or Sweet Hallowe'en" challenge over at the
RSD Sparkle and Glitter challenge blog. I opted for SPOOKY!!!

This image is called, Let's Pahrtay!
Perfect for the Zombie loving birthday boil or ghoul! 

This is the Zombie Beauty Queen image, complete with
blotchy bruising and partially skinned cranium. 

And this is your Classic Zombie.
Looks like he just stepped out of "Night of the Living Dead".  

Side view of my card. I went with a step card to accommodate all of the
images I wanted to use. I think it turned out pretty damn cool!!
