Dance like no one is watching.....

It's HUMP day! And that can only mean one thing.

This week we are sponsored by

I used Chibi-Spain for my ATC.

After coloring her with Copics, I fussy cut her out and
mounted her on top of the most amazing vintage, flocked, wallpaper.
I picked it up at a yard sale a few years ago, and have been
using it sparingly. It's kind of my "precious".

And I had a blast with Stickles to make this little Senorita sparkle!!!

Please join in on the dance party at Wicked Wednesday!!!!

Fleurs at The Greeting Farm

Not sure if it's the sudden heat wave we're having here in California,
or if I'm going soft in my old age, but I had the urge to
make something adorable using Glimmer Bean from TGF.
The current challenge for Farm Fresh Friday is May Flowers.
I have a ton of paper flowers. I rarely use them, so this is a perfect
opportunity to break out the petals and get all flowery!!

I have had this clear stamp from The Greeting Farm for so long,
that they no longer even sell it. They do have a new line of  Alice in Wonderland Beans that are TDF!

I fussy cut her out after coloring her with Copics.
I attached some flowers in her hair to go with the theme.

Once the sentiment (from Dilly Beans) had been added, it was time for
the bling and more flowers.

I had a lot of fun playing with flowers and bling and Glimmer Bean.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Sweet Card Sundae

I realize that I am not known for my cute card style,
but unfortunately, I cannot give Grandma Great a card
with skulls and monsters on it for her birthday.
Sometimes, I have to make cards for the masses, the norms,
the straight laced, and even the religious. Yup, I said it.
I won't say it again though...

So I chose this day of the week to display the cute
side of this creepy bugg. If you don't come here for cute,
... see ya tomorrow.

You have been warned.

Bubble bath = happiness

Discontinued rubber image from Paper Makeup Stamps.
They only have digital images available now.
So sad.
I hope rubber doesn't got the way of the vinyl record
or the hardback book.

Total sucker for Mo Manning's babies.

How bleepin' cute, right?
Perfect for a boy or a girl card too. Double duty digi.
Nice.

I have had this "Fly Away" Greeting Farm set for years.
Refused to part with it, and now finally used it.

And destashed this bright, happy paper and
some rhinestones too.

I have been quite busy coloring images lately.
I'll be making more projects this week to strike a balance
between the creepy and the cute.

Don't wanna lose my Creepy Bitch card.
It's not beneath the Minions to call a mutiny.

The Lost Art of Handwritten Correspondence

I am a big fan of thank you cards and handwritten correspondence in general. It seems like less and less people take the time to hand write a personal note or even bother to send a thank you card to show their appreciation for something  or someone. I guess I am a bit biased since I tend to have cards for all occasions at my fingertips, but I did take the time and effort and thought to make these cards so they are at the ready as needed.

I am trying to pass on this lost "art" of sending thank you notes to my son who is 10 years old. Never too young to start in my opinion. He has been making cards and writing thank you notes since he could write his name (2 or 3 years old?) and I know that those little notes and cards really meant alot to the people he sent them to.
Let me step down from my high horse and say that this image from The Greeting Farm looks spot on like my son. No joke! I need to pose him like the stamp and take a picture for a side by side comparison. I figured that this image would be a fantastic focal point for all of his thank you cards for a while until he gets all tall and gangly, and looks nothing like the stamp or just refuses to indulge me in this antiquated way of corresponding.
Either way, I love the image and am quite happy with these cards.

Fairies, fairies everywhere!

More fairies.
I just can't get enough of these fabulous images!

This is my first Christmas card of the season.
I think I will try to make each fairy into a Christmas card.

I really don't think it's possible to make these gals look bad.

This is probably the one I am most fond of at the moment.
I really like how her wings turned out.

I finally got a chance to use the MS butterfly punch that I picked up on clearance at Wally-World. I embellished the c-rap outta this little dude and it looks much better from FAR away.

I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of these images in rubber!

Fairy Inspired

Wow! That is all I could say when I first set eyes on this new set of digis from The Greeting Farm. I first saw them on Wicked Pixie's blog and frankly anything that girl colors is awesome, so I wasn't sure if I could do them the same justice. Well, I am so impressed with myself.

At first glance, this was my favorite fairy, but now that I have colored and created with each one, I find it very hard to choose a favorite.

Finally, ... Skater Ian!

I ordered this stamp about three months ago, and promptly inked him up and colored him in with my Copics, and cut him out. And there he sat, in my images basket until I got the large star punch from SU. Then the image and the punch sat idle for a few more weeks, and finally, ... viola! We have a completed card!
I am rather pleased with how the coloring turned out. I'm getting a little better with the blending. I'd love to take a Copics course. A friend just recently got her Copics certification and I'm working on getting a little tutoring from her. Until then, practice makes perfect!

Happy Anniversary to the Corpsegrynders

One of my very best friends Katt, and her husband of five years, Josh celebrated their anniversary yesterday and this is the card that I made for them using Anya and Ian stamps from The Greeting Farm.

Katt and Josh are such unique "characters", that it was realitively easy and fun to make this card for them. It was a bit frustrating trying to get her hair right, but it came out perfect in the end.
Josh and his signature goatee (flocked) and tattoos. It was hard to give the tattoos any details, so I just sorta got the shapes and colors close enough to make it obvious.
They LOVED their card and that makes it worth all the effort.

Creepy Cuties

I just adore these Anya stamps. When I first laid eyes on the Dress Up set I knew I wanted to make Anyas with skulls.
She seems so innocent and demure,... but there is something a bit naughty lurking.

I just discoverd a great site at starving artistamps
and I just received some of the cutest/creepiest critter stamps ever! Can't wait to ink them up!

Blog Hop Entries

I am so excited to be participating my very first Blog Hop! This has been quite a week or two for me and all of my cyber firsts. I thought just starting a blog was a major accomplishment, and now I have won a contest on TGF Gallery and I'm involved in a blog hop!
Will the fun never end?!

Okay, here we go!

Here is fisherman Ian with his big catch! I really like the color combo and I think the little lure is a nice touch.

I am really pleased with how this card turned out since it has a very "soft" feel to it. I am usually all about the bright and vivid colors, so this is a nice change for me. I used the Geisha Anya and a sentiment kanji that translates to "Much Happiness".

This card is an Anniversary card I made for my husband for our 13th year of "wedded bliss". After showing some friends, they have been putting in orders for their anniversaries as well. It's hard to find a card with skulls and stuff for your anniversary.

This card is something I had in mind for a dear friend who is getting married for the first time. She's a little over 40, and finally found someone worthy of her. I am so happy for her and wanted to make something unique and pink like my friend, Dani.
I used the Geisha Anya image and an image from CTMH for the kanji that translates to "Forever in My Heart".

Soggy Spring Break

It has been raining most of the week and that really sucks if you are my son and are on spring break. He has another chance for a sunny vacation next week since he gets TWO weeks off for break. Crazy, I know. I, on the other hand, have been enjoying the wet weather as it gives me a chance to get into my "crafting cockpit", and create. This hummingbird is an adorable stamp that I picked up at the San Jose stamp expo a month or so ago from the Magenta booth . I'm still learning how to use my Copics, so I decided to watercolor this little guy instead.

I promised myself that I would save all of my Greeting Farm creations for the blog hop, but I will sacrifice this one for your viewing pleasure.

This is one of my very favorite images and quotes to use. So fun and quirky.

And finally, here is the gargoyle, Gary, who guards my front porch. I fancy myself something of a novice photog, and like to incorporate my photos in my cards.

My Other Rockers

I had such a great time creating rockers for TGF contest, I just couldn't stop myself (still want to do a Janis Joplin). Here are my other two entries. Kurt Cobain was a given considering the likeness that already existed between him and Ian. I only had to add the stubble and the hightops and he was tranformed. Jimi Hendrix was the most fun to do with the flocked fro and upside down guitar. Fun, fun, fun!

I'm a Weiner!

Well, I finally plunged into the world of blogdom! I decided that I couldn't prosper in this world without a blog. Taadaa!
Since I am on the subject of firsts, I entered my very first card making contest, and WON! Get out! I know! No one was more surprised than me! It was the cutest contest on The Greeting Farm blog, to "Rock Out" one or more of their Anya and Ian images. I transformed the Ian character into Alice Cooper complete with boa constrictor and "Welcome to My Nightmare" song lyrics. Pretty darn cute if I do say so myself. I received such positive feedback from everyone on the Greeting Farm Gallery. This was such a great experience.
