RSD Freebies and a WW reminder

Looks as though I am a day (or two) late on this post,
but better late than never.
As is his usual, generous style, Rick is offering two freebies
for the next two weeks. A fairy image is available on the
Sparkle and Glitter blog, and the Grumpy Dragon
is available on the Airless Chambers blog.
The challenges are both Anything Goes, so why
not play along for a chance to win more free images?

Here is how I colored and used the Grumpy Dragon freebie.
I chose to color him in red and black with Copics.
I used some contrasting colors for his eyes and his tongue,
hoping they'd stand out a bit against the red and black.

I used some ancient dp from Costco that has silver thread stitched into it.
I used a new (to me) ATC and corners die from TH for the corners.
I worked in a (crooked) swirly die cut from a Memorybox die, jazzed
up with red Stickles.
I also managed to add this cool charm I have had for a
couple of years. I affixed it really shabbily, and will be fixing it soon.
It's a little too "rustic". It's crap. I gotta change it.

to claim your freebies. It would be great if you'd share your makes using the new
images and enter the corresponding challenges. The EDT really looks forward
to seeing what you create with Rick's awesome images.

I also wanted to remind you that there is still time to play along
at WW ATC for the current Red, White, and Blue challenge.

We're sponsored by 2CuteInk.
They should be called, "2Stinkin'CuteInk"!

I was trying for a "summer bbq at the lake" feel for this ATC.
Not sure why the right corner went wonky, but that's
handmade for ya!

I challenge you to a duel!

Cat Nap digi stamp
A few weeks ago, Rick St. Dennis released a sickeningly
sweet image called, "Cat Nap". So precious and mainstream.
I was feeling a bit frisky when I saw a sample card
my fellow EDT member Monique made for the image.
I dared her to creep it up a bit. I love transforming images,
and haven't had a go in a while. Even our other EDT Sister, Alison
wanted in on the make-over action.

Now the logical plan of attck would be to work on the kiddo.
He is pretty easily transformed just by the use of color, but I wanted a bit
more of a challenge. Those kitties look like they could be fun....

So glad to have those Copic multiliners. They made the transformation
much easier than a Sharpie. I decided to go with mutant eyes and horns
for the kitties. The talons reminded me of a sloth, which I thought was cool.

After transforming the kitties, I was at a loss as to how to change the kid.
I decided to go with the idea of a nightmare that hasn't struck just yet.
That way the boy could stay the same and just the felines had gone
terribly feral. I hand wrote the "Sweet Dreams" with a multiliner.

Another of my favorite sentiment stamps, coupled with a kitty sticker border,
and an eyeball sticker from MS.

I received this cute, black paperbag scrapbook from Barb, months ago, and have
been plotting how and when to use it. I have decided to put together a MoNsTeRs
scrapbook using a bunch of RSD images, old and new. Stay tuned for more installments.

Drop by the Airless Chambers blog and see what Monique and Alison did with
their sleeping baby and kitties image. Not for the faint of heart though....

Did someone say, Freebie"?!

Everyone likes a freebie, don't they?
Crafters especially like freebies.
Today, Rick St. Dennis is giving away two free digital images.

Over at the Airless Chambers blog, there is this killer skeleton image.
Grab him, make a project using him, and enter it in the monthly freebie
challenge to win more free images. Win, win!!

I colored this dapper fellow with Copics, and then fussy cut him out.
I added a couple of bones from a previous "RSD blog only" available set,
and a square of this cool, self adhesive, "Magic Mesh" to finish it off.
I am really new to this magically adhesive mesh, and wish I had
applied it with some dimension. Next time....

Then, if you pop over to the Sparkle and Glitter blog, you can pick up
this beautiful "Desdemona" image.

I colored her up in purples, teals, and golds. She is such a beautiful image,
that I may have to color her up in various color schemes to see which one
I like the best. It's amazing how diverse an image can be by just simply changing the paint job.

I finally found the perfect opportunity to use one of my precious,
handmade by Andrea, sheer fleurs. It goes beautifully with this tag.

So how's that for some awesome freebies?
Make sure to get them, and then play along with the monthly challenges
on each blog for a chance to win more free images.
Please play fair, and don't share the images.
Direct your friends to the blogs so they may get the images and some inspiration for themselves.
