Remember me?!

Long time no see, huh?
The last couple of years have really screwed up my crafting and creating.
And then it seems like the more I want to get back to creating, the more
shit life throws at me.
But,
I received an invite from Lizzy at Oddball Art Stamps to play along
this week using the new Poison Posies image she created using
my idea from a past facebook poll on her fb page.
This was just the kick in the tush I needed to get my Copics out and start
coloring my life again!!

This image is so much more than I had hoped for!!
So pretty, and wonderfully weird, and creepy, all at the same time.
Win, win, win!

I used the image with the blank banner so I could add my own
words. Which I instantly regretted after seeing my finished scribblings.
I was hoping for some beautiful script to fall out of my pen, but that
takes practice, which I haven't been doing.

Ultimately, I am thrilled with this card and how it turned out.
Considering I haven't been crafting much, this doesn't suck at all.
Well, except for the hand lettering...
I added a die cut I have had for years, but never used until now.
I think it works, along with some black Nuvo drops.
Luckily, my niece is a creeper just like her Aunt,
and she will love this card for her birthday.
FYI: This image is for tonight's Creepy Cute Chronicles freebie image.
Have you signed up yet?
If you haven't, you are really missing out!!

Gettin' my Chunk on!

I had never heard of a Chunky ATC until a few months ago,
when fellow Minion Sistah, Donna, suggested it as one of our
upcoming challenges for HDH.
Once I googled it, I was blown away by all of the awesome
options this opened up for the pretty much one dimensional, ATC.
The basic measurements are 2.5" x 3.5" x 1.5". There is some
question as to the actual or official dimensions, but this will do for now.
Once I got my husband to cut some wood down for me, I just sat and looked at
the wood blocks for a few weeks. So many options can really be a
stumbling block, artistically, sometimes.
I settled for a relatively flat CATC to begin with.
Might as well cool my jets and see how this works first.

I broke out one of my favorite and probably one of my first
wood mounted rubber stamp from Silver Crow Creations.
I love a laughing Devil! I mounted him onto a distressed
dictionary page, a Poison label, and an online find.

Another online find (cutaway of skull) mounted onto
a MS Hallowe'en scrap of paper.

Tim Holtz Hallowe'en kraft card stock with a cracked glass
vintage rat poison label.

MS Hallowe'en paper with some creepy bottles from Itkupilli,
and a jar of money paws from my (imaginary) boyfriend, Ryan's personal
collection. Ryan is on the show "Oddities" on the Science channel, and he is
a master of the "exploding skull" displays. He has an incredible personal
collection of wet and dry specimens, plus all kinds of other cool schtuff.
I'd love to spend a weekend perusing his "collectibles".

Close up of creepiness.

Another Itkupilli cut out for the top of the ATC.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you enjoyed my CATC, and maybe
was even inspired enough to try your hand at making your own to enter
in our challenge at Haunted Design House.

Keep it creepy!!!

Old and Gross!!

Well, it seems like it's becoming my modus operandi
to be late with my Wednesday posts.
Keeping with that tradition, here is my
Vile Vintage Ephemera shadowbox.
I have a hoarded supply of 8X8 shadow boxes that I picked up at a
ridiculously low price last season. It didn't occur to me to use one for
this project until late, Tuesday evening. I tore my original project apart,
and started anew around midnight.
Hence my tardiness.

Creepy ass ventriloquist dummy and his "Papa".
I mounted the photo and aged the whole thing to appear
distressed and forgotten.
I finally got another opportunity to use one of those
cool baby doll eye wood cuts from Pork Chop Show on Etsy.

Some people find the notion of Nuns and/or Catholicism
to be vile or politely unpalatable.

I lightly sanded the face off of the nun to make her appear
as a demon might when it's being photographed.
Then I added bloody fingerprints to give it some more drama.

I aged a mini plastic domino and added it to the bloodied playing card.
I also worked in a feather and some lock washers.

I UTEE'd more bits of strange ephemera, and added a handmade tooth.

I think that covers Vile and Vintage Creepy Glowbugg style.
I will list this in my Etsy shop very soon, if anyone is interested.

I'd like to enter this shadowbox in the following challenges:

Well, I'm off to go work on some commissioned Zombified wedding cake toppers.
I'll post some photos when they're completed.

Simply Betty Sketch Challenge

This week's challenge at Simply Betty is a killer sketch from
that crazy talented cat lady, Cheri/Graphicat.

I decided to use "Devil Rio" on this one.
I didn't ever get a chance to use this image at Hallowe'en,
but thought she'd make a really cute Valentine's Day/love card.

I've been having really good luck with my coloring when I use this
combo and I figured why mess with a good thing?
I do think I am getting, "pinked out" though.

These poison tickets are the only tickets I own. They are part of a
really cool digital sheet I have with apothecary labels that I got on
Etsy a long time ago. I colored the wording in with coordinating Copics.

I really like how these green gems pop. I went over the already
green gems with my FYG2 Copic to give them a nice fluorescent glow.

I am quite pleased with this card and I have Cheri to thank for
creating such a great sketch to inspire me.
Drop by Simply Betty Challenges and join in on the fun.
This week's winner will get some cool papers and chipboard bits
from the "Crazy Love" collection by Bo Bunny.
