Making my way back

I've been in a bit of a funk the past few weeks.
No rhyme or reason, just funky.
No focus or mojo either, makes it hard to be
productive and creative.
I'm trying to make my way back though...
I was inspired by this new image from
Saturated Canary, called Cerridwen.

This gorgeous image was perfect for an
"out of my comfort zone" color palette.
Also a great chance to use lots of Stickles!

My favorite type of fleur to make is one made
from old, recycled dictionary pages. I used the SU
flower punch, colored the punched fleurs with TH
Distress Ink in Sugar, and then crumpled, layered,
and added a fancy brad.

Perfect for a girly birthday or a "just thinking of you"
kind of card.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Thanks for dropping by.

Gothic Make Over at HDH

This week at Haunted Design House
we wanted to see what those cute or non-Goth
images would look like all Gothed up.

The sponsor this week is Saturated Canary.
What better images to give a little dark side make over?
Besides Tilda images, I mean.

I chose to work with, Dreds.
I fell for this image as soon as I saw her.
The coloring of the dreds was alot of work, but fun
to color just the same.

I went with the standard Goth color scheme of
purple and black.
Then I went into sparkle overload with all kinds of
glitters, both fine and chunky.

I destashed some purple fleurs and a black feather.
I have tons of these things! Which are near impossible to
wrangle into a container without scrunching them.
And I added a green stick pin to match her eyes.
I almost always color eyes green. Can't help it.

I'm a green eyed lady myself.

Awww, such a sweet little Walker....

I mentioned before that I have a new printer.
It is the shiznit! I have been printing digis onto killer stock
and coloring my arse off!
I finally had to stop myself, and actually put something
together.

I think I love her.
She is called, Zombie Niamh, from

I colored her skin in with Copics using Ws and YGs.
I was compelled to make her a redhead for some reason,
which led to the use of teal and blue violet.
No rhyme or reason for any of it,
but she turned out pretty sweet.

I am back on the "destashing" bandwagon, and have
managed to use some hoarded paper fleurs, a green stick pin,
and a "I love zombies" charm. I also added a handmade
RIP headstone (from my  extremely talented fellow Minion,
Andrea) flatback to the centre of the fleur.
Oh, and Stickles. Lots of Stickles.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Smashed Canary

I am a fan of the Saturated Canary images
so brilliantly drawn by Krista Smith.

So fun to color and create with her images!

I follow her blogs and saw a post she wrote about
SMASH Books.
Now I remember Slam books (which were usually confiscated)
from junior high school, but this Smash concept was still new to me.
Or so I thought.

This is a composition notebook that I turned into
a scrap book of sorts quite some years ago.
Notice the custom electrical tape running down the left side.
Nice and durable construction. Electrical tape was my friend
way before I met duct tape.
Love the fancy layering and torn edges there too.
I think I used watercolor colored pencils to color that image.

She's a little thick just like her Mama.

Here are the templates to some of my tattoos.
I usually don't like to leave them behind for
portfolio flash - even though most of it's flash anyway.

Here is a page of drawings from my son, Gryphon
when he was a little guy.
Awwwwww.

Here are some clippings and fortunes and
miscellaneous artwork that I liked and collected.

Some of these are just comical if you know me.
Charm and courtesy are my middle names.

I had to get kitty in there. Believe me, she's got more than
a few pages devoted to her and her artwork/toys/etc...
The picture on the right is by one of my favorite artists,
He knew how to draw a real woman in comic form.
He also wrote the popular adult comic, Cheech Wizard
from the late 60's and 70's.

So there is my version of a SMASH book.
I was so ahead of my time on this one!
I've also likened this book to my Spellbook.
It holds so many bits of me and what I like and
hope to aspire to, and who I used to be and who I
have become.

I'd like to enter this into the giveaway on Krista's blog
here.
