Orange and Pink at Dilly Beans

It's (late) Friday and that means another challenge

 has been set over at Dilly Beans.

This week's challenge is to use the colors

pink and orange.

I have always liked this color combo. So bright with a 1960's feel.

I envision geometric shapes and plastic egg chairs.

And mummies.

I used the Mummy and Spider love candy image

from Dilly Beans. So cute!

I colored the main mummy image with Copics and then painted the

background with Distress Inks. I also added some Spica pen to the

spider web and some white gel pen for highlights. 

I kinda forced the bling onto this card, but I have been hoarding that

orange and pink bling for way too long!

Such a fun color combo! I'll probably start using it more now that I can see

how much I like it.

It's hump day and you know what that means!

I'm showing off my project for this week's

Macabre Monday Music Mayhem

challenge.

Mine is kind of a stretch, but I really wanted to use this image

from Delicious Doodles.

Her name is Steampunk Sally,

but for my purposes her new name is ...

"Whole Lotta Neon Rosie"

inspired by AC/DC's "Whole Lotta Rosie". 

I also had "Paint it Black" by The Stones as an option as well.

I had all these new neon glitters that were just screaming to

be played with, and then this fabulous image has been just daring me

to give it some life. I even used some of my fluorescent Copics.

I now know why I need fluorescent orange and yellow.

I am kinda on a neon kick. I'm not even gonna try and deny it.

I have always had a penchant for black light posters and I think

that this may explain my recent neon obsession. I'm not over it yet.

This week's challenge at HDH is a

Butchered Blueprint.

That's Minion speak for a sketch challenge.

I flipped the sketch to accommodate my design idea. 

I used the Candy is Dandy Bear from Smeared Ink, and

matched him up with one of the many witty sentiments from

Ginger's House.

I pierced his little heart with a pink stick pin in keeping with the sketch. 

He does look a bit dangerous doesn't he?

Sparkle and Shine at Dilly Beans

It's Friday (the 13th), and it is time for another challenge at

Dilly Beans.

This week we are sparkling and shining.

I used the Mummy and Pumpkin image.

So sweet and easy to color and create with too! 

The background paper is nice and shiny, and textured to appear

like mummy wrappings. Perfect!

I Stickled the c-rap outta the punkin and the spider webs.

Fabric and fibers @ Dilly Beans

Well, the calendar says it's Friday, but I'm still a bit off this week.

The Friday challenge at Dilly Beans is

fabric and fibers.

This was a challenge for me since I don't have much in the

way of fabric or notions in my crafting stash.

I knew I had some wall paper samples that were made of fabric,

but didn't find those until last night by accident. Too late.

I chose a sweet image for this week's challenge.

This is image #426 Hello Friend.

I colored the image to match the paper this time.

Very matchy-matchy for me.   

Here is proof that there actually is fabric on here somewhere.

I used a scrap of some fabric/paper I received in a scrap pack

I bought years ago. I frayed the edges to make it appear to be

more on the fabric side than the paper. I also frayed the ends

of my bow, but not sure if it just looks unintentional and messy.

I did add a bunch of glitter to make it all sparkly and to

distract from the wonky fabric I used.

Glitter fixes nearly everything. 

Fun challenge this week. Pushed me right out of my comfort zone.

Isn't that why it's called a challenge in the first place?

Old and Gross!!

Well, it seems like it's becoming my modus operandi

to be late with my Wednesday posts.

Keeping with that tradition, here is my

Vile Vintage Ephemera shadowbox.

I have a hoarded supply of 8X8 shadow boxes that I picked up at a

ridiculously low price last season. It didn't occur to me to use one for

this project until late, Tuesday evening. I tore my original project apart,

and started anew around midnight.

Hence my tardiness. 

Creepy ass ventriloquist dummy and his "Papa".

I mounted the photo and aged the whole thing to appear

distressed and forgotten.

I finally got another opportunity to use one of those

cool baby doll eye wood cuts from Pork Chop Show on Etsy. 

Some people find the notion of Nuns and/or Catholicism

to be vile or politely unpalatable.

I lightly sanded the face off of the nun to make her appear

as a demon might when it's being photographed.

Then I added bloody fingerprints to give it some more drama. 

I aged a mini plastic domino and added it to the bloodied playing card.

I also worked in a feather and some lock washers.

I UTEE'd more bits of strange ephemera, and added a handmade tooth.

I think that covers Vile and Vintage Creepy Glowbugg style.

I will list this in my Etsy shop very soon, if anyone is interested.
