Stampotique Summer/Fall Release Blog Hop

Today I am sharing a few projects using some of the new
Summer/Fall 2016 releases from Stampotique!
If you are hopping along, you should have arrived here from
the inspiring, Jackie Payne's blog.
If you just landed here by chance and would like to participate in the hop
(there is a $30 gift certificate for one lucky commenter, and two grab bags
of stamps for two lucky random commenters) you can begin
here, on the Stampotique Designer's Challenge blog.

First up is a tag I made using one of the newbies from Daniel Torrente.

This is Jillian #6208
Isn't she delightfully menacing?
I paired her up with an existing snarky sentiment #8968.

This is a journal page using Bella #15004 and her kitty friend, Casper #15008,
from new Stampotique artist, Tracy Scott

This is Faith #15007, also by Tracy Scott.

The new rag dolls are so fun to color and create with.

And finally, another journal page featuring all the kitties from the new
Kitty Cube #6217 and a new background stamp Spiral Daydream #6205.
Both are from Daniel Torrente.

I used glow in the dark embossing powder with Versa Mark ink on the spirals
so they don't really show up without the assistance of some black light.

And now you can head over to the talented, Julie Steed
to see what she has in store for you.
Remember to leave comments for everyone along the way, as you never know
whose blogs the lucky comment winners will be chosen from.
Be sure to drop the Stampotique Originals website to check out all of the
new releases for July 2016. You won't be disappointed. There's something
for everyone and for every occasion.

Thanks for hopping by today, and good luck!

Aurora Wings Tic Tac Toe Challenge

The new challenge at Aurora Wings is a Tic Tac Toe challenge.

I love these kinds of challenges.
Just choose your three in a row and go for it!
This one is even easier in that you can choose the colors or the elements,
or  if you're feeling extra sporty, go with both!

I chose to go with the gray, white, and pink diagonal row.
I colored up this gorgeous Poppy Elf with Copic markers.

In keeping with the chosen bingo palette, I went ahead and gave her
gray hair so I could give her a pink complexion, and of course pink poppies.
I used Mitzi's colored version as reference, and pretty much copied it with
all the highlights and dots. I used a silver and a white Posca paint pen for my
highlights. I love how her eyes turned out. I began with really light gray eyes, but
added a hint of RV00 for some actual color.

I used a new Gina Marie die for the gray frame, mounted it on some
foam pieces for dimension, and then backed the image with a white linen textured
card stock. I heat embossed a SU flower stamp onto the black card for more
interest and viola! Fini!

I hope you'll join us on the Aurora Wings challenge blog for more inspiration,
and even drop by the Aurora Wings facebook page for lots of coupon codes,
fun contests and giveaways, and even more inspiration from the
large community we have there.

It's Party Time!!!

It's time to celebrate!!
What are we celebrating? Well, this is my very first post
for my new design team term at Stampotique Designer's Challenges.
Sounds like a great reason to party to me!!

What's a party without party guests?
I've invited quite few of my favorite stamps to this little soiree.
I made this altered canvas using the backside of it as a shadowbox
to give some depth and extra space for everyone. This canvas is a gift
for a friend's 50th birthday. She's been a very dear bestie for many years.
Like over 30 years. We actually went to high school together and have done
a lot of growing up together. I love that crazy chick. So the fact that she's
stuck around for so long means she deserves such an involved project/gift
for her old lady birthday.

I began by using matte gel medium to adhere old dictionary pages to the frame.
Then, I used watered down brown acrylic paint to age and distress the edges.
Giving the entire a piece an ancient appearance of at least 50 years old. Hee hee.
It also allowed for a more cohesive feel to all the torn edges of the dictionary pages.
Then, I added some of my favorite stamps,
Moth Fab (one of my very first Stampotique stamps), Schmurfy, Piling Thing,
Barkabe, and a dog from the Dog Cube.

This is Baby Cthulhu. He is one of my favorite Stampotique stamps.
I also managed to place the birthday definition in the background, as well.

Over on this side we have more favorites, Karin, Batboy, Spider Girl,
more Piling Things, and a pup from the Dog Cube

The distressed and crackled chipboard number 50 is a great place for
Moon Girl and one of the bat kids from the Halloween Cube #1
to hang out and enjoy the festivities.

The spider from the Birds and Bugs cube makes an appearance as well.
He is hanging freely from a web brad and some iridescent floss.
I worked the cake definition into the background up there, too.

Kitty even decided to come out and see what all of the excitement is about.

Using the party definition in the background, I added the
Happy, Happy, Happy banner to complete the party decorations.
Also most everyone is wearing party hats compliments of the

All of the coloring was done with Copics, and most of the images were
heat embossed on Paper Trey Ink card stock. My favored paper of choice.

My friend loved her canvas! I had to give it her a little early for fear she'd see this
post before her birthday this Friday, and ruin the surprise.
Happiest of daze to you, Dani!!!

Thanks for stopping by today and celebrating with all of us.
Be sure to pop by the Stampotique Designer's Challenge (now a bi-weekly challenge)
and check out all of the other designer's makes for Team 2.
As usual, there are two $30 gift certificates up for grabs this month.
And you don't even need to use Stampotique stamps to enter either.
But if you have some already, why not break 'em out?

I'd like to enter this canvas in the following challenge:

I have an exciting announcement...

Today is the very first day of my new DT term for none other than....
Stampotique Originals!!

I have been perched atop this information for weeks now,
and I finally get to announce the thrilling news.
I have been a fan of Stampotique stamps and their incredible designers
for years. I still can't believe I made the cut, but I am beyond excited to
be a part of the new team for the next six months.

Here's a smattering of some of my previous Stampotique creations from years past
to give you a small taste of the fun to come....

There's just a taste of what I've done so far using Stampotique Originals
wood mounted stamps. I have already amassed a collection of over 80 stamps,
so you will be seeing a lot more from me in the coming months using new stamps
and some old ones who have never even seen ink before.
I am super stoked to begin this journey. I hope you enjoy it as well.

My first official project for the new challenge theme will be on July 13th.
See you then!
