Rising from the Grave Day 6

Welcome to Day 6 of the 

Countdown to Halloween hop,

and the 31 Days of Halloween hop!

It's a great way to get into the holiday spirit!

As a dark crafter/Halloween enthusiast, I am always on the look out

for cool, unique, even cute, Halloween stamps and digital images

to add to my crafting arsenal. So, it was a no brainer to snatch up this little

monster and her feathered friend from Mo's Digital Pencil.  

She's called, 'L.B. Back'.

Once I looked into her eyes, I knew I had to have her.  

After coloring up the main image using Copics,

I made this card dimensional to add more visual interest.

I'm all about the foam dots.

I used a cool spider web gate die from the Prickly Pear 

that I picked up from ebay last year. I highlighted it with Firefly Stickles 

to match the moon and her eyes.

I got this cool paper from a Dollar Store pack of craft papers in

greens years ago. It's kind of a holey, handmade type paper. 

I glued it onto a piece of lime green  cardstock for stability 

and to hide the foam dots on the back. Then I just punched it out 

using a large Stampin' Up circle punch. I highlighted it with Firefly 

and Clear Rock Candy Stickles.

 I die cut a tree branch using a Memory Box die and vellum.

The branch didn't show up very well, so I heat embossed it using 

black Versamark and clear embossing powder.

I really like how this turned out. It's a fun little graveyard scene.

 And now for my new favorite Halloween decoration...

I was finally able to procure one of these 5ft. tall, poseable

skeletons from Costco. I have been seeing them online and hearing people

rave about them for the past two years, but due to poor timing and 

bad finances I was never able to find one.

Until last week.

There was an entire wall of these things stacked nicely in their boxes  

right inside the front entrance at my local Costco.

I made an audible, "sqeeeeeeeeee" and tossed him into my cart

with reckless abandon and glee. My day was then complete. 

A later trip to the thrift store, and I found this Amadeus type wig.

I think it's a nice addition to his look.

   

And he looks right at home with 'Boner', last year's

birthday gift to myself. He was on sale at Grandin Road,

which is cheaper than what I have been seeing him sell for this year.

Damn, the whole skeleton was only $10 more than the dog skeleton.

And that is why I haven't gotten a cat skeleton yet. Still too pricey.

Sweet Card Sundae

I realize that I am not known for my cute card style,

but unfortunately, I cannot give Grandma Great a card

with skulls and monsters on it for her birthday.

Sometimes, I have to make cards for the masses, the norms,

the straight laced, and even the religious. Yup, I said it.

I won't say it again though...

So I chose this day of the week to display the cute

side of this creepy bugg. If you don't come here for cute,

... see ya tomorrow.

They only have digital images available now.

So sad.

I hope rubber doesn't got the way of the vinyl record

or the hardback book.

I have had this "Fly Away" Greeting Farm set for years.

Refused to part with it, and now finally used it.

And destashed this bright, happy paper and

some rhinestones too. 

I have been quite busy coloring images lately.

I'll be making more projects this week to strike a balance

between the creepy and the cute.

Don't wanna lose my Creepy Bitch card.

It's not beneath the Minions to call a mutiny.

Happy Birthday to my spawn

Today is my son's 11th birthday. Where has the time gone? One day they are this tiny little lump of life, and then they grow into this huge, smelly, garbage disposal of a smart mouth kid!

I got this digital image from Mo Manning.

At the time I purchased this, my son was on the Play Station constantly.

Then we got the laptop fixed...

Now I need a Sims image.

 

Still kinda looks like him (my son), and it has the same distant, "You're in my way, Mom. Can't see the screen", look that my son has periodically.

I purposely stand in front of the TV just to jerk his chain.

That's why I had a kid.

So I could mess with him and tell him fantastical tales of horrible untruths.

I've only been at it for 11 years, and I still have so much more

damage to do!

No, I love my boy, and I am fiercely protective of him.

He's the coolest kid I know and he is so bleepin' funny sometimes it's hard to 

remember he's only 11 years old.

Happy day Boo-bee.

Here is the card I made for my husband for Father's Day.

I got this great image from Mo Manning's Digital Pencil. 

I thought it was perfect for my husband.

He likes to play video games with my son, and he likes to leave a mess around the bottom of his brown recliner in our living room too!

 

I knew I could go one better, and make it look like my husband.

I added glasses, tattoos, and some facial hair and sideburns to really make it resemble

my handsome husband of 14 years.

I kept the rest of the card really simple to show off the image.

I kept it simple because I still have two more Father's day cards to make!!
