Wanna see the cutest thing ever?

The Aurora Wings Showcase blog is spotlighting the newest 

Aurora Wings Sprites today.

I am honored to be showcasing this little guy. 

He's a Bat Flower Sprite.

Adorable, right?

As usual, I have gone the relatively CAS route, letting

 this cutie take center stage. I slightly chalked up some 

EK Success bat punches to add a bit more interest. 

I also added a sentiment using some rubber stamps. 

This little guy, and a lovely new Rose Sprite are debuting today,

and are available in the Aurora Wings etsy shop.

Simply Steampunk Hallowe'en

Today I have the honor of being a part of the new release

over at Simply Steampunk/Simply Betty Stamps.

I was asked to guest DT for Betty's new line of

Hallowe'en Steampunk images, drawn by the uber talented,

Abigail Larson.

I was given Rio Gone Batty to work with.

Isn't she gorgeous?!

I felt she deserved a place in my Hallowe'en themed

paper bag scrapbook.  

I added Rio to a scientific diagram of a bat using Gimp.

Then I colored her up in my favorite color scheme, using 

Copics in violet, yellow red, and yellow greens. Oh, and blue violet

for her skin. I added some distress inks on the bat background and 

some distressing with a sanding block and scissors. 

I added one of my hoarded (it's okay, I know I'm a hoarder) Hallowe'en stickers.

I even went so far as to cut out the samples on the packaging for even more

hoardable embellishments. It's a sickness.... 

Lastly, I layered some MS punched fence and other various Halloweenie

type embellishments on top for a nice complete scene.

Nosferatu Ad Nauseam

Nosferatu is my favorite vampire movie of all time.

There has never been a creepier vampire than Count Orlok.

That was one creepy dude!  

 

The challenge at HDH this week is basically, Vampires.

 

Here is my homage to the Werner Herzog/Klaus Kinski film,

Nosferatu the Vampyre , 1979.

I believe I bought this stamp years ago through Gorey Details.

(I had some bad customer service there, so I don't promote them usually.) 

I got this cool grapevine wreath die from Memory Box, and used it to

add some wicked looking bling to the existing chipboard frame.

It's surprising sometimes what a little Stickles can do to make a project pop.

I used a killer hearse woodcut from Porkchop Show on Etsy,

added more Stickles, and threw on a Cuttlebug headstone die cut.  

For my second card, I used the image, Count Drako

from Rick St. Dennis. Rick is this week's sponsor at HDH.

 

What is a scary creation without some Martha Stewrat (hee hee) Drippy Goo punch?

And LOTS of red glitter!!! I also added a MS bat punch and a small headstone die cut.  

I added a TON of red fine glitter all over the outer edge of this

arched design. But then the wicked witchy writing in the sky needed some too.

Rest in Peace

Welcome!
To the Creepeeville Cemetery!!

 

Tucked away in the tiny town of Creepeeville,

there is a cemetery full of life! 

Under a silvery moon, hangs a Creepee Bat named, Vincent.

Vincent welcomes all visitors and invites us to take a tour of

"his cemetery".  

Let's go through the gates and say, "Hello".

Anyone home?

First we happen upon a wonky eyed gourd, named what else but,

Gourdy.

After we discuss the best way to spend our time in Creepeeville,

we hear what sounds like soft purring.

Look! It's the ol' cemetery familiar, Pyewacket.

And she's scratching herself upon a tombstone.

What a sweet kitteh.

 

Gourdy's friend, Jacko, tells us to watch out for spiders!

Then I see a tiny spider crawl across the socket of an old skull.

He's not so scary. 

Looks like someone lost her shoe!

From the looks of that heel, it was a sparkly, young lady witch. 

 

 

Pyewacket and Jacko want us to meet their ghostie friend,

Nebula.

She reminds me of a dollop of marshmallow creme.

But I didn't tell her that.

 

Watch out!

There's that spider Jacko warned us about!

 

 

Do you hear that? 

Boo!

It's one of the friendlier ghosts in the cemetery, Silas Spectre.

He points us in the direction we came and tells us it's time to go.

The sun will be up soon, and they all have to retire for the day.  

 

Silas bids us a fond farewell, and invites us to come back

and visit the Creepeeville Cemetery anytime.

 

Goodbye Vincent!!

I made a card too!

I used one of the newly released digis from Sweet Pea Stamps.

 

This image is called, "Hallloween Trio" by Ching Chou Kuik.

I used some bling amongst the headstones and added some sparkly orange ribbon

on the side of the image in a pleated fashion. So pretty!

I used a Spica pen for some sparkle on the die cut cemetery from QuicKutz.

Is this normal?

I have been working so hard that my fingers have been going numb lately.

That's probably not good. Might need to start sleeping in a wrist splint.

I hate getting old.

 

Bats in the Belfry is the challenge theme at HDH this week.

 

I have been working on a set of 10 Hallowe'en themed ornaments for a friend.

One of her ornie requests is a bat. How lucky for me.

 

I sculpted the bat from polymer clay and then added glass beads for the eyes.

I decided he needed some texture, so I used a satin finish sealer

on his nose, wings and ears. Kind of gives a leathery or wet appearance.  

So cute!

I have more ornies to share with you, but you'll have to hold out until next week.

Such a sucker

That's right, I'll admit it.

 I am a sucker for a cute face. Total sucker if that face is fuzzy.

 

I have been collecting 2 Cute Ink's images for a while now.

I started off with a couple of sting rays, and then a bunny, and then

came the little monster digis. Oh yeah, a cute and fuzzy monster!!

 

Oddly enough, I am using the current (for a very short time) freebie

available over at 2 Cute Ink's challenge blog. Only odd, since I have

so many to choose from, but not odd since it's an adorable bat with candy corns!!

The challenge is to use black, orange, and purple on your project, along with a 2 Cute Ink image. Extra points for using the freebie image, which is awesome!! 

Sooo cute!! Gave me an opportunity to use some of my cuter, DCWV

Hallowe'en themed paper. I have amassed quite a varied selection of Hallowe'en papers

to choose from. Right now I am really into last year's apothecary themed papers

for my more vintage and macabre creations. Still popular in my book! 

 

I used some black netted bag (plastic skulls from Mike's were in it) that I cut up, and

added to the oval layers for a little texture. Simple, but effective.
