Gothic Love ATC

Okay, where the hell did January go?!
I swear, the older I get, the faster my life slips away from me.

It's time for another exciting episode of
This week we are exploring GOTHIC LOVE.
Our sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps.

I used the "Deacon with flower" image from Bugaboo.

I also have a crackle addiction when it comes to hearts.
I just like the way they look all crackled up!

Last shot of Deacon with his cool, skully fleur.

Drop by Wicked Wednesday ATC challenge and play along!
There are 7 free Bugaboo images to be won!
Show us your GOTHIC LOVE!!

Creepy Cute Wicked Wednesday

Today I have a Macabre Monday/Wicked Wednesday
Bugaboo offering for you.
I went the way of the creepy cute as I needed a
card to fit a little girl who may or may not like creepy.

This little cutie is from the "Skelekinz" line from Bugaboo Stamps.

The challenge at Haunted Design House is to create a long
project with long elements.
I used an opalescent thread to tether each of the skull balloons
to the card. I also used long, rectangles as my card and image bases.

There is still plenty of time to play along with us at HDH,
for the "Xtremely Xhaustive" challenge.

I am loving these balloons!!!

I also would like to enter this card in the
"Anything Goes" challenge this week at

Happy Hump Day!

New Kenny K Krush and a Bugaboo boy

Last year I entered the Kenny K "Name that Kitten" contest,
and one of my name submissions, Cheyenne, was a winner.
I received that image plus two more of my choosing.
I chose my former flame, Mae Western, and my new
sexy lady crush, Harley Ryder.

Tell me this chick isn't hott as all get out!

Once I colored her suit and her face, she was gorgeous.,
But when I finished that bad ass 80's Rocker chick hair,
Miss Harley Ryder was/is my new Kenny K krush.
I am entering her (um, ewww) in the Pretty in Pink challenge
at Kenny K this week.

Next up is an image I have been wanting to create
with for quite some time.

This is Deacon Cupcake from Bugaboo Stamps.

Too cute with his gothy, little self!
I did try and butch the card up a bit
since most all of my nephews are now
moody, sullen, angst ridden, teenagers.
Cute doesn't score points with them anymore.

I absolutely LOVE this postmark stamp.
It's from an awesome company, Leavenworth Jackson.
I popped one of my Glow Skullz (which can be purchased
on my Etsy site) in the center to finish it off.
I am entering this card in the Bugaboo challenge
this week for Anything Goes

I'll be back later with an awesome ZOMBIE creation!!

Get Well dammit!!!

I have a quick post today to show you
this cute little Get Well card I made using
Bugaboo Stamps Nurse image.

Isn't she just wicked?! Must be the syringe full of
pink meds! Hospitals would be way more inviting if the
nurses wore pink uniforms and high heels.
This little vixen is from the Sassy Girls line at Bugaboo.

I colored the rhinestones with Copics to match
the pinks on the card. I also sponged around the
image while it was still in the Spellbinder die
with SU Cool Caribbean ink.

The inside sentiment and band-aid stamps are
from Hambo Stamps. They have some of the best
sentiments available anywhere!

I dedicate this card to all the "Naughty Nurses" out there!
You know who you are!!!

Have a creepy weekend!!!

Baby Viking

An old friend of mine is going to be a Dad for the first time, in a few weeks.
His baby shower (tee hee) is this weekend, so I 'whipped' up this adorable little card using the strawberry boy image from Bugaboo. I actually needed a baby girl, so I gave him a curl and some eyelashes, and it's a girl!
This was such a fun image to color, and it gave me a great area to practice blending with my Copics.
I am quite pleased with how this whole card turned out. I am especially stoked over the bow! It only took me half a dozen tries (and a yard of ribbon!) to get it perfect.

Oh yeah, let me explain the title of this post. My friend, we'll call him Robb, ('cause that's his name) is a huge Minnesota Vikings fan. For as long as I have known him - 25 years - he has been a fan, so I am assuming he will inflict this fanaticism on his newborn daughter.  I'm hoping to beat him to the punch on this one.

It's one of those ceramic mugs you get out of the gumball machines. It's so tiny and cute! I just added some ribbons to make it girly and now the little Miss can enjoy her grog while watching the game with Daddy next season.

Bugaboo Challenge

One of my favorite new digital image companies is Bugaboo stamps.
I just adore the line called, "Skelekinz".
They have a challenge blog and I wanted to play along this week. The challenge this week is a non-traditional Valentine's Day card. No red or pink allowed!

I went directly to my favorite color, purple, and paired it with this awesome teal.
It wasn't much of a stretch to color the little skelly blue, since I'm assuming she is not in the world of the living anymore.
I broke out with my newest Nestie Label #9. Love it!
I even got a bit fancy with the flowers and the Stickles and the punky brad.
Lots of fun to make and I am hoping to place in the challenge since free images are up for grabs!

Thanks Gabby!

I have Bugaboo on the brain lately. Here is another digital image from Bugaboo stamps, from their 'Skelekinz' line.
I first heard of these images from Gabby, over at her "Confessions of a Stamper"blog. Just upon reading the name of the line I was immediately intrigued and checked the site to find some of the cutest images ever! I have three of the 'Skelekinz' images and a couple Monkeys as you've already seen. Very cute and fun to color.

Just for fun, I broke out with the old 'booger sucker', SU airbrush thingy. I popped a Copic in it and started spraying! I really like the effect it gave to the card. I'll have to use it a bit more in the future. Finally getting organized might really improve my range of techniques, now that I can find stuff that I haven't ever used or haven't used in a loooong time.

More Munkee Luv

Yes, it's another Bugaboo monkey! Too cute! I am a suckah for beady eyes. And animals in hats. Don't know why exactly, but they leave me giggling like a lunatic every time!

Anyhoo, on to my card. I have had that patterned paper for way too long, and have been dying to use it on something! I really forced it on this project, but it's the least heinous of my attempts, and I was tired of seeing it all lying around for the last week.
I colored the little fella with Copics and used some Doodlebug glitter on the hearts.
Look Ma, no Stickles!

Monkey Business

Is this the cutest darn monkey ever?!
I love monkey images and have seen some really cute ones (I am really a big fan of Dustin Pike's monkeys), but this one is too bleepin' cute for words!
I got it as a free image at http://www.bugaboostamps.com/. It seems that every Friday they release a new freebie image to try. I love free stuff, and free monkey stuff is really all a girl wants anyway right?

So much fun to color. The lines are nice and thick so it is easy to stay within the lines, which is hard for me sometimes. Coloring at 3AM can lead to sloppy coloring among other things.
I think this will be my husband's "ValentiMe's Day" card, unless I come up with something better before February 14th!

BTW, that typo for "ValentiMe's" was intentional. Don't want folks to think I'm spelling impaired. I do miss the spell check option for the blog posts though. I keep my dictionary handy just in case I get stuck on a four dollar word.
