HDH091 - E.M.O.

Well, here it is already Wednesday and I still

haven't completed my "to do" list from Monday!

School is almost out and then I can resume my

natural way of crafting, completely unencumbered ,

without stopping regardless of the time or the elements!

I love summer! 

Today I have a "two birds with one stone" project.

I have used the cool Christian image from the older,

Summer Emo line at SBS.  

Okay, I may be pushing it a bit here, but

I have Earthtones for E, and Masculine for M,

and then lastly, Oceanic for O.

Like I said, it's a bit of a stretch.

SBS 50's Emos Release

I have been so busy trying to prepare for this
upcoming craft show in a couple of weeks!
I totally spaced my post for the 50's Emo, Christian,
from Simply Betty Stamps.

Here he is in all his ShaNaNa glory!

I guess he is more like Fonzie, but either way,

I thought a black and white color scheme for these

images was quite fitting.

And here is the final image, "Waitress Betty",

which marks the long awaited release of this

line available now at Simply Betty Stamps.



"You're the one that I want!"

Well, there hasn't been many themes that

Betty, from Simply B Stamps hasn't "Emo'ed",

and now you can add the 50's era to that list!

Here is my version of the lovely, "Lola".

She reminds me of the scene from Grease at the carnival,

with Sandy all dressed up in black and (gasp!) smoking!

of rubber on Friday! 

Wretched Wednesday. Yes. Yes, it is.

Today has been kinda funky. I guess I have been funky.

It's the frigging weather! If I wanted to live where it

rains all year I'd move somewhere more magical like

Scotland or Ireland!

I miss the sun.

Which leads me to this week's Macabre Monday challenge.

Not gonna happen today. Too much rain and nothing on my 

project has dried properly, making for a big ol' pile of C-rap!

I am attempting to salvage most of it, but it will take me a day or 

so suture this monster back together.

In the mean time, I have my last "Rag Doll" card.

This is "Lena".

The bat is adorable and easily makes this image my

favorite of the Rag Doll line at SimpyBStamps.

I used the "make your own button" technique, and made

some pink bat charms to match my card. I added some

small glass beads and strung it all on some chain.

Adhered it with a brad, colored the rhinestone with Copics to match,

added some matching ribbon (thanx Dawn!), and this dog will hunt.  

I destashed with that killer cherry paper,

and everything else just kinda fell into place.

"Oh Davey!"

As a child of the 70's, my fondest memories

were of spending time in front of the TV watching

The Krofft Super show, The Banana Splits, or our stop-motion gift

from the Church of Latter Day Saints,

Davey and Goliath.

I worked with a guy a long time ago who was named, "Dave".

It was impossible for me to ever say his name properly. I always

said it in the voice of Goliath, and after a year or so the novelty had

worn off a bit, but I was still unable to just call him, "Dave".

Soooooo,

not really sure of the tie in here, but

I have a really cute card that I made using an image

from SBS "rag Doll" line, named "Davey".

Isn't he a doll? Really? Just too cute.

He reminds me of a magician with his top hat

and his little bunny snuggled at his feet.

Magicians are near and dear to me so I am in lurve with this image.

I kept this one really simple, but I did get a smidge

fancy with the pearl sprays coming out of the top hat.

I tried some flourishes at first, but the pearl sprays reminded me of

fireworks or sparkles which I thought conveyed a more

magical feeling.

Rag Doll Misty and some buttons

Have you seen the adorable Rag Doll line of images

available exclusively at Simply B Stamps?

This is Misty.

She's cute right? Yeah, I thought so too.

There are three more of these adorable images and

I have two more to show you in the coming days. 

I decided to keep it very simple, yet girly. For me, anyway.

I used a couple of MS border punches and I used one ready made

button and two buttons that are "Creepy-made".

I even used a sentiment on the inside. I almost never do

anything on the inside, but I had this cute image from

Tiddly Inks that was perfect.

I didn't have any lavender buttons to match this project

and it screamed for buttons and lace to me. So, I decided

to try a technique I saw on Splitcoast for homemade paper

buttons. 

First, I made this one. Cute. Sparkly. Nice.

Then it dawned on me. All the possibilities!!!

Out come the Martha Stewart Hallowe'en punches!

OMG right?! Endless possibilities!!!

Betty and Batty sneak peek

Well, we're almost there! Only 2 more peeks

until the release of the Teen Scene line from SBS. 

Today I have Betty herself, and her faithful companion, Batty

to show you!

I must confess, this is my favorite image from this release.

It must be the look on Betty's face and that "too cute for words"

bat of hers! 

I kinda went "bat-happy" on this card. I wanted to use as much

bat themed schtuff as possible, and I believe I accomplished just that.

I got to use that killer puffed bat ribbon from Hambo Stamps that

I have been hoarding since last year. Oh, and that awesome

MS bat border punch was unused before now as well.

Miller and Max Sneak Peek

Today I have another preview of the awesome

new "Teen Scene" line from Simply Betty Stamps,

set to release this Friday.

Here is Max and Miller.

I am really enjoying this new line.

The images are perfect for the wee kiddos,

right on up to the fickle teens and young adults.

I had great fun putting together this 

snake-a-licious card.

I finally got to use my Tim Holtz reptile embossing folder.

When I added the clear embossing powder it really made the 

paper look like reptile skin! LOVE it!

Made up a cute "sssssnakey" saying and ta-dah!

The Zombies have arrived!!

No, the great and imminent Zombie apocalypse

hasn't begun (yet), but the new line of Zombies are

available at Simply Betty Stamps!!

There is also an "All about Rio" challenge

going on at Simply Betty Challenges too! 

This is Zombie Rio. She is just one of the SIX new

designs at SBS. They just keep getting better too!

She is so sweet and demure with her books and

smart little specs. You could probably get away with

using this image on a more mainstream card, not just 

a card for a teenager who likes Zombies.

 

Betty has also come up with some cute sentiments

which compliment the images perfectly. 

Some major destashing going on right here.

Those nautical star brads are way old and I have

a bit of a surplus of that black netted weave ribbon.

I am the first to admit I have some massive issues,

and shopping and hoarding are just two of them.

Man, I need to start that art journal.

I can feel a catharsis coming on. 

I will warn you now, it won't be for the

weak of heart or stomach.

SBS Sweet Gothic Easter previews

Today I have a couple more Easter previews from

Simply Betty Stamps.

The first one is Tilly.

Much to my dismay,  I didn't have any papers with pink

spiders on them, so I went ahead and made my own. 

I opted for black spiders on pink paper though.

She is quite a cutie with her tiny pink spiders

all over her umbrella.

Tilly was lots of fun to color and I especially like her

cotton candy pink hair. And those green eyes...

Next up is Sally.

I went with a very subtle pallet, and kept the colors fairly

light and spring-y. One of my favorite color combos for

spring is yellow and purple.

I colored a satin fleur to match and added grosgrain leaves

to finish it off. 

I really like how Sally turned out.

I want a bouquet like hers with tiny pink

bats fluttering about. Too cute!

I really like all the details in these images that 

make them such fun to create with and very

versatile outside of Easter projects.

The final preview and release is tomorrow and then all six of
