A friend in need...

Through the magic of Face book, I have gotten reacquainted with

some folks from my high school (and even junior high) days.

One such friend I have thought about through the years, always 

wondering how she was doing. If she was still with that jerk from high school,

any kids, whatever. Well, my dear friend Alison found me on fb,

and we have been getting caught up and getting to know one another again.

Through this time, my dear friend has been having a run of bad luck. 

Stuff getting stolen, looking for a new job, etc... Then, the unthinkable happened.

Someone kicked down her front door and robbed her home. 

Luckily, she wasn't home, and her dogs weren't hurt, but damn! Really?

So, feeling helpless to help her and her husband, I made a card.

It's what I do.

I used "Gobsmack" from Sweet November Stamps, and

a very fitting sentiment from Ginger's House.

My friend and her husband really appreciated the card and the thought behind it.

Sometimes it's the littlest things that make a big difference.

Make a card for someone today!!

What's this?! Two weeks in a row?

I must have that Hallowe'en fever that's going around!

This week's challenge theme at Dilly Beans challenges is....

Hallowe'en!!

Once again, I have chosen a witty word art from Ginger's House,

and paired it with probably my favorite and most used image from 

Dilly Beans called,  Monster Boy (#230).

After setting the usual color scheme with my Copics, I destashed this

cute skull border from Tim Coffey/K Designs. I also used some dp

that I could never figure out how or when to use previously.

Throw some rhinestones on it, and everything just kind of works.   

More destashing of glittered spider die cuts, and some awesome

and super cheap cheesecloth. Cheesecloth is perfect for conveying

a Hallowe'en, haunted feel to any project. You can bet you'll be seeing

more of it in the projects to come.

Stick a needle in your... heart

This week's challenge at HDH is a

Butchered Blueprint.

That's Minion speak for a sketch challenge.

I flipped the sketch to accommodate my design idea. 

I used the Candy is Dandy Bear from Smeared Ink, and

matched him up with one of the many witty sentiments from

Ginger's House.

I pierced his little heart with a pink stick pin in keeping with the sketch. 

He does look a bit dangerous doesn't he?

Perspective

Just when you think your life sucks

to no end, you get a wake up call that 

puts it all into perspective.

I was totally feeling sorry for  myself today

and then I read Ginger's blog post today about a wonderful

little dude who could use some cheer.
