Wretched Wednesday - Shot through the Heart

Here is my submission for this week's
Shot Through the Heart challenge
at Haunted Design House.

I am on a Dilly Beans kick lately. I am loving this Sugar Skull.

The images are so fun and easy to color, plus

they lend themselves to so many occasions.

I used a couple of Spellbinder hearts and cut the middle

out of one to represent the hole in the challenge.

I popped the skull out of the hole using dimensional dots.

I added some die cut flourishes, corner accents and

a glittered chip board love and a heart to try and

balance it all out.

All the smell and feel of a vintage lunch box...

memories.

I'm going to share yet another "collection "

(you say hoarder, I say collector) with you today.

Lunchboxes!!!

First up are the most coveted of my collection,

The Sid and Marty Krofft lunchboxes!!

I think watching the Sid and Marty Krofft shows is my fondest

childhood memory. I even have the episodes on VHS.

I have a Lidsville box, an H.R. Pufnstuf, and my newest addition,

Sigmund and the Sea Monsters.

Now I just need a Bugaloos and a Krofft! Supershow box to

complete the set.

The box on the left is from my favorite Disney cartoon,

Robin Hood.

I had the record as kid, so I know all the songs by heart.

"Robin Hood and Little John walking through the forest..."

The Disney box on the far right was my first lunchbox as a kid.

I almost cried when I found it on eBay. I said almost!

Isn't it funny how you won't even slightly recall something

from your past until you see a picture of it somewhere?

I think I saw all of my previous lunchboxes on eBay at one point.

Wags n' Whiskers is still on my wish list...

There on the bottom left is my Dark Crystal lunchbox.

It even has the thermos still intact.

The upper right is my cherished Buckwheat box. Otay!

Some of my boxes aren't "vintage", but they are still cool anyway.

Love me some sock monkeys, Willy Wonka and the
Mystery Machine from Scooby Doo.

Here is my homage to my Lord and Saviour,

Jim Henson.

The Kermit with the fangs is my original stuffed Kermit from 1980.

The Pigs in Space box is kinda covered by the Star Wars

Muppets action figures on the right.

Here is my bookshelf which seems overloaded, and it is.

There are a couple of Hello Kitty boxes and a

Cheech and Chong lunchbox too.

Here are my tiny boxes:

The Munsters, The Gashlycrumb Tinies,

Wendy and Casper, Top Cat, and Snagglepuss.

Up top is my Lenore box and various vinyl toys.

More "collectibles", including my Toxic Toons vinyl figures,

my Little Apple Doll - Umbrae, and some Skelanimal goodies

including a lunchbox.

I look at collecting as an investment for my son's future.

My son can't wait for me die so he can finally play with all

of "Mommy's toys".

Eye Adore You

I just can't get enough of these Dilly Bean Voodoo images!

They are perfect as a less than traditional V Day card

for all the angst ridden teens and weirdos in your life.

I Stickled the heads of the pins and highlighted the pins

themselves using a Stardust Jelly Roll pen.

I did some layering of a couple border punched trims and

a cool sparkly spider tape.

The sentiment was a total no brainer.

Perfecto!

I would like to enter this in the

Dilly Beans challenge - FREAKED!!

Some Dunny to love!!!

Don't worry, I spelled it right.

This is my newest Dunny.

I collected Dunny's a few years ago and just recently

started checking them out on eBay again.

These are a blind box collectible, vinyl toy.

Each Dunny has been designed by a current pop artist,

and then the boxes are unmarked, so you never know

which Dunny you will receive. Some are more rare than

others, some are a complete mystery, and some are insanely

collectible and high priced.

Gotta have my Tokidoki fix.

Did you notice the face on the wiener? So cute!!

This is my Hannah Aitchison Tattoo series Dunny.

It was designed by Hannah (of LA Ink fame) and was

a CHASE which meant there were an unknown number

released.

This is a Joe Ledbetter designed Gryphon Dunny.

Had to have it for my son, who's named Gryphon Hunter.

This is DuPac/Hug Life, designed by Nico Berry.

Here they come little Spider Baby Boom guy

Voodoo part deux

This was actually my first version of the cool

Voodoo Lady image from Kraftin' Kimmie.

Once I had her all colored, the map part of the

Haunted Design House challenge didn't really work.

I totally love this image! So cool!!!

I did struggle with what color to color her face.

I decided to go with a charcoal face and a white

mask like the Voodoo Priests in Nawlin's.

I think I ended up with more detail on the one I colored

with colored pencils. I'll keep them handy just in case I decide

to practice some more.

Wretched Wednesday - Get Lost!

I have been having a hard time focusing on the

task at hand lately.

Lots of life changing experiences hapening lately.

The dust has started to settle and the healing has

begun, so it's time for the big girl panties and let's

get back to business.

I finally managed to create my Get Lost! project

for this week's Macabre Monday challenge.

As soon as I saw this Voodoo Lady image

from Kraftin' Kimmie,

I knew she would be mine. Yes, she would be mine...

I took an Old World map I found on Google

and chopped it in half and distressed it.

I used both halves to layer behind my main image.

I also made my own background paper with an

ancient clear stamp of a compass and some

Sepia Versamark, some clear embossing powder,

and some Stickles.

And then for my big "step out of my comfort zone",

I colored with watercolor pencils on kraft paper.

It was fun and different to use the pencils. It seemed to

take longer, but the end result is pretty cool.

I need some more pencils, but I am not into the whole

Gammasol and baby oil blending, so it's cheapy

Coloray or Col-erase pencils for me!

There is still plenty of time to enter

this week's Macabre Monday challenge!!!

Just a quick post to show off a cool

Valentine's Day card I made using

the killer Bat-like Wings from Stampotique and

the creepy little Heart Monster from Dilly Beans.

I was asked to make a VDay card for a customer through Etsy.

She pulled various samples of my cards from my blog and

requested elements from each project.

I hope she likes this one.

If not, I will be listing it in my Etsy shop.

I am really digging these fancy tags (#3) from Spellbinder.

They layer up really well with my other non Spellbinder dies.

I used a rubber stamp sentiment from Paper MakeUp,

who are now almost completely digital. They still have a decent

selection of deeply discounted rubber images to choose from

under their Specials tab though.

When I received the Bat Wings from Stampotique,

I colored up like six pairs using different color schemes.

Now I think every image needs cool bat wings!

The Heart Monster from Dilly Beans looks fabulous

sporting the red pair of wings. And a bit of a bloody face too!

More die cut mania with vintage silver wallpaper moon and skull border.

The MS bat fence punch is a favorite of mine.

I added some half pearls and some Stickles for a little

manly tolerable bling.

"You have stolen my heart" on the outside,

"Um, I'm gonna need that back" on the inside.

I like it, but I hope this is what my customer had in mind.

Wretched Wednesday - Chic Freak

It is Wretched Wednesday!!

Are you ready to get your freak on?!

Now I can remember the very first time I set

my eyes upon a Daniel Torrente image.

I can distinctly recall thinking happily, that someone had

finally tapped into the alternative, unique, not so cute,

slightly creepy, vein of rubber stamps.

Stampotique is still one of my very favorite

stamp companies to this day, with Daniel's

images at the top of my must have list.

This week's sponsor for Macabre Monday

is none other than

Stampotique Originals.

The challenge this week is

Chic Freaks.

I started off with the awesome and versatile Bat Like Wings

stamp and my favorite little bat buddy, Batboy.

I altered him a bit by chopping off his usual party hat

and adding those killer wings.

I used some die cuts and cool word art

from Ginger's House.

Topped it all off with some rhinestones, and voila!

He's chic and a freak!!

But I'm not done yet!

This is my new favorite image called simply,

3 Smiles.

I decided to do some clean and simple cards

using Distress inks to "color" the faces.

I went over the eyes and the smiles with VersaMark

and then clear embossed to keep them white.

Then I used TH Distress Inks in various colors and some

sponge daubers to blend the colors together.

I left them blank until I need them for a specific reason

or occassion. It's good to have blank cards on hand.

I had a blast (as usual) creating with the awesome stamps

from Stampotique.

Have you ever had a bad haircut?

I mean a really bad haircut, where your entire week

is ruined?

Well, I received such a horrendous haircut that my entire

month (possibly the next two) is gonna suck.

Unless I break every mirror I see before it sees me.

Really, it's THAT bad.

Think 1970's gypsy/shag cut, mixed with some 1990's

Joan Jett and throw in a little more lesbian flavor and you

have my once beautiful tresses today.

Too bad tears can't make your hair grow back faster.

I tried.

Anyhoo,

I really needed some cheering up today, and when I went to the

mailbox (with a bandanna on) I received some joy in the form of

little mini critters !!!

It was a good thing no one was home when I opened my packages.

I was talking the forbidden baby talk to these guys.

Sorry, couldn't be helped.

I mean, c'mon look at them!

First up is a baby pink bat and matching ATC from

Twistyfishies on Etsy.

Also from Twistyfishies, is this adorable

amigurumi purple buglet.

He and the bat are only 1 1/2" tall!

So fricken cute!!!!

And then we have this felted "Loveable Troll",

from Tracey at "If U Go Down to the Woods" on Etsy.

Golden Rodney as I have named him, is barely 2" tall!

I love his pose - like he just dropped something very breakable!

Now if I can keep getting cool, cute schtuff in the mail everyday,

I just might have a reason to get up in the morning.

What doesn't kill us - makes stew out of what's left.

Way Late Wretched Wednesday - Metal Mania!!

I am interrupting my crappy life to bring you this post.

I need the distraction.

This week's Haunted Design House challenge is

Metal Mania!!

Use metal or something metal-like on your project.

I went literal and used metal embellishments for this one.

I finally used the bat Nesties that I just had to have well over

a year ago. I die cut some cool black leather-like paper and

then layered a smaller bat cut from metal mesh on top.

I used staples to adhere the mesh and then covered them with

my main image.

I layered up a few die cut tags and then stamped the sentiment

using a Paper Make-Up stamp. I also destashed this weird

metal bat-like brad. It works, I guess.

I used this great Jasmine Becket-Griffith image called,

Bat Wings.

I also managed to add Stickles to almost everything to make it

all sparkly. Sparkles make me happy.

You still have plenty of time (until Sunday at 5PM CST) to get

something metal together and join us at HDH for this week's challenge.

You know you wanna play....

Purging the hoarded goods

It's a new year. My style has changed greatly

over the past 10 plus years of stamping and paper crafting.

It's time to purge the clutter and let someone else enjoy

the spoils of my over spending and hoarding.

I have already listed some schtuff and will list more

supplies in my Etsy shop.

Most of it is the more cute schtuff, retired SU sets,

CTMH sets, some grab bag sets.

Mostly wood mounted so far.

I have only purged my Greeting Farm stamps so far, but
will have more cling mounts and various clear sets listed soon.

Check in periodically, as I will continue to list things

as I come across them.

Wretched Wednesday - Got Goth?

Ahhhh, the smell of damp, fetid earth and the slick feel

of a yet to be determined globulus muck!

It's good to be back!

The gates to the

Haunted Design House

are open for business!

Kicking the year off in traditional HDH style,

the challenge is,

"Got Goth?".

Nice and easy... but don't get used to it!

Here is my submission.

It's good to be back at it again!

I can feel the 'ol mojo warming up!

Okay, I started off with some really cool laced dp,

but can't remember who it's by (Barb?).

I used some long hoarded real lace trim from

Wild Orchid along the bottom.

This awesome image is called, Tad Batty

by Terra Bidlespacher for Sweet Pea Stamps.

I added a big vellum moon as the backdrop for the image.

I used Sparkling Silver mist to add texture and some

dimension to the moon.

I had some chipboard flourishes from a year or two ago that

matched the color scheme and give the illusion of vegetation.

I finally got to use my MS skull border punch

that I got for my Bday last year (thanks Barb!!).

I also used the MS bat fence punch and highlighted it

using a black Spica pen to represent moonlight.

That's it for me.

Wicked Christmas Antics!

I don't know if you've heard, but the

Smudgy Antics challenge blog

is open to all images now, not just stamped, but digis too,

and not limited to Smeared and Smudged images either.

Any qualifying submission is up for the grand prize,

but only S&S images are up for the Top 3.

I was so inspired by the challenge and then to find out

I could use whatever image(s) I wanted?!

I give you my version of a

Wicked Christmas.

This is my new boyfriend,

Monster Boy from Dilly Beans.

It was love at first sight... sigh....

I saw someone else put wings on him and had to

CASE it for this card. So angelic.

This is the perfect sentiment for all ages.

I believe it's from MFT.

It was a gift, so I'm guessing by the font.

I finally got to destash a

long in the tooth chipboard snowflake.

The first logical step was to paint them all black, right?

Try using those on your traditional holiday cards!

My son asked, "Why is she wearing socks with that gown?"

"Cause that's how Krista drew her", was all I could come up with.

Well, that and the fact that I colored them to look like socks,

not stockings.

Her name is Suzi Stockings after all. You can find her here.

I think she is gorgeous in my new favorite color combo.

I added lots of sparkles to give the impression of ice

crystals shimmering in the sunlight.

I even went with a button combo and silver ribbon accent

to finish off this wintry gorgeousness!

I made this card specifically for the current winter themed

challenge over at the

Saturated Canary challenge blog.

Dustin' off the funk

Man, am I ever glad to see this holiday season

come to an end.

The month of December really sucked right out of the gate.

Things did settle down finally, and I had a wonderful

Hexmas Eve and an even better Hexmas.

I got some nice gifts and didn't have

to get dressed all day!!! We're talkin' jammies, not nude!

So, I took the time I had this past week and made a couple

of cards to play along with some upcoming challenges.

Today's card is for the Dilly Beans challenge of using

three different images on your project.

Since I am total sucker for the mentally imbalanced

(well, they always seem to find me at the mall and other public places),

I had to go with the Disturbed Snowman image

from Dilly Beans.

I paired him up with a winter sign post from Make it Crafty

and a funny sentiment I got from Ginger's House ,
a fabulous free word art blog. Thanks Lynx!

The blank sign post was perfect for me to hand write the

three avenues of Holiday Cheer!

So glad I finally got to play along with the

Dilly Beans challenge!!

Entering the home stretch

I am finally starting to get into the spirit of the season.

At least a little bit anyway.

I got to do some more shopping and am feeling

even better since I found out we don't have to go anywhere

or entertain anyone on Christmas Day! Yippee!!

I am all for sitting around the fire playing our (yet to be opened)

Nightmare Before Xmas Jenga game and taking a

neccesary nap from sipping too much hot chocolate

laced with 100 proof Peppermint Schnapps.

Nice.

Oh! I made some cards. Wanna see?

My neighbor, Connie has been keeping my family well

stocked with cookies and the most amazing Pomegranate

jelly and syrup! I had to make her a card to thank her for

sharing the sweets!

I admire his art immensely!

I have not been in a particularly festive mood this season.

It's been a chore to participate at all to say the least.

I have been steady with orders in my etsy shop which has

brought a bright spot to most days.

Don't pity me though, this is all self induced.

I think I'm turning into my F-F-F-Father!

Ffffaaaaaahhhh....!

I do have some purdy cards to share though.

Here is a little Kraftin' Kimmie action.

I totally bought it for the dragon though.

Lastly, is a card that took me forever to finish!

Creepmas: Favorite Hexmas stamps

I did actually make it back today! Yay me!

I wanted to share a couple of cards I have been working on

for Creepmas, or as I like to call it as of late,

"HEXMAS"!

One of the coolest and quirkiest rubber stamp artists

in my opinion is, Daniel Torrente who designs for

Stampotique stamps.

I have amassed quite the Torrente collection over the last few years.

They are all my babies, and I love them all equally!

Probably my favorite line of rubber ever!

This is "Snowman".

Kinda creepy, yet passable to the masses as just 'primitive".

My absolute favorite holiday sentiment ever

from the creative genius of

Leavenworth Jackson.

This is "Global Warming".

Nuff said.

I've got a cookie swap to get ready for tomorrow, so

off I go to the dungeon (a.k.a. my kitchen) to make 5 dozen

Well I kinda fell off the Creepmas bandwagon

didn't I?

Life has really gotten in the way lately, but I am back!

I'm gonna ease into Creepmas again with a little collection

I have been working on over the past year.

Zombie Angels!!!!

Just look at my handsome boys!

So precious!

I cannot express my sheer joy when I am hunting for

sculptures at the local thrift store, and run across a

perfect angel!!!!

This is my tree topper this year.

I'm not sure how long the husband is going to tolerate

my Zombie Angel display atop the mantel, so I thought I

should snap some pics of the kids before they go back into the

barrister bookcase. Gotta keep a lid on these guys.

CREEPMAS: Day 5

Merry Creepmas!!!!

Today I received some happy mail to help ease the

sting of being destitute this holiday. Grrrrr!

I got a package from my dear friend, Deb at

On Cupcake Moon.

Deb creates (by hand-the old fashioned way) the most adorable

little images perfect for party favors, invites,

business cards, mugs, shirts, etc!!!

Both my business cards and mailing labels have her "Reaper"

design on them! I LOVE the Reaper!!

So, the second I heard she was making Holiday designs

with a creepy flair, I was all in!

Looks like I got some extra goodies too!

Who doesn't need cool/cute gift tags for the holidays?

These would be cute as little ornaments too!

I ordered Creepmas cards in three designs with a custom printed

sentiment inside.

The one with the skull snowflakes is perfect to go with my

Skullflake ornaments!!!!

CREEPMAS: Days 3 and 4

Had a bit of a crappy week, so I have fallen behind on my

Creepmas posts.

My husband's work truck was stolen from in front of our house

Friday. All of his personal tools are gone!

Well over $2000 worth of his livelihood, STOLEN!

The truck was recovered later in the day, but now my husband's

awesome schmuck of an employer has scheduled him

OFF WITHOUT PAY for the entire coming week

as a finishing turd in the punchbowl to this wonderful experience!

Oh! And a Merry Hexmas to you too!

Anyhoo,

I did put together a couple of clean and simple cards to get my head

out of the depressive fog.

I absolutely LOVE this stamp!!

I picked this image up at Paper Makeup Stamps.

They are doing away with all of their rubber!! Blaspheme!!

But I did get a smashing deal on some fabulous stamps.

I used Kraft stock and a cute rotating stamp

that has a bunch of holiday sentiments on it.

I thought "Naughty or Nice" was fitting.

I'll get my head in the game and will be back for the

remaining 9 Days of Creepmas.

13 Days of Creepmas: Day 2

The cold weather here in Northern California has finally hit.

First we had some fog, but now the icy searing winds have

blown all the fog away to reveal gorgeous blue skies

and a bright sun!

Sounds like soup time to me!!!

Fresh, homemade Turkey noodle barley soup!

The only way to creepen it up a bit was to serve it

in these awesome skull bowls!

My little cherub friend doesn't care much for soup.

He's just having a little sniff to make sure it's still fresh.

Never can be too cautious with your raw brains.

Bone Appetit!!

I've done a ZomBuddha and a ZomBaby, so it seemed

a natural progression to make a ZomBetty.

Or a ZomBoop if you prefer.

My son has had this unpainted greenware Betty Boop for a few years

that was given to him from a friend. It had been collecting dust on his

shelf so I confiscated it and promised to bring her back in one piece.

My son is slowing (painfully slow at times!) turning to the dark side so

he was actually quite excited at the prospect of having his Mom zombify

one of his ceramic pieces.

I painted her out in acrylics, added glow in the dark paint on her eyes

and on the highlights of her dress.

My son loves it.

Okay, who's next?!

One of my bestest friends is having a birthday today!

Just being her friend makes me feel like a better person!

She is a card maker too, so I really had to break out with

the techniques and the embellies on this one!

I used MFT cloud dies, Swiss Dots embossing folder, SU edge punch,

and a bunch of dew drops.

That's alot for me.

I finally got to use "Donna" from Tiddly Inks!

Such a sweet image. She always reminds me of

my HDH Sister Minion, Donna for some reason.

Maybe it's the hair.

I'm back again with my second canvas for the new images

just released over at Spesch Designer Stamps.

The Alice in Zombieland line has the coolest

Zombie images I have had the pleasure of working with thus far!

I love Max's artwork already, but mix in some rotting

fairy tale characters and you have won my heart!

I painted the background with acrylic paints again.

I need the practice, but I am pretty happy with the

broken teapot and the bloody, decimated hearts.

There is something so organic and cathartic about painting blood

drips and splatter!

I am so loving the Red Queen!!

I wasn't happy with how the Glossy Accents washed out the inks

on my previous project, so I skipped it this time and love how

vibrant all the colors remained!

I decided to go for a more violet shade of zombie pallor on

the Mad Hatter.

But I had to keep him a red head!

Nothing says, "Crazy!" like a ginger in a top hat! LOL!

I am super thrilled to announce the new release at

Yup, yup, yup! Soooo cool!!

And I was invited to join in on this release today since Tracey

knows I am such a zombie enthusiast and lover of the undead.

Wait a minute, that didn't sound very nice...

Ack!

Soooo cool, right?!

I painted an 8 X 10 canvas using acrylics and my own twisted

version of Wonderland.

I still need more practice with paint, but I am having so much fun!

This cat is my favorite. I LOVE that stitched eyeball!

And the blood running around the eyeball and into the teeth is brilliant!!

Oh Alice!

What have you done to poor Mister Rabbit?!

He is going to be very late!

I had so much fun working on this canvas.

I used Glossy Accents on both the images, but found that the colors

faded once it was completely dry. Bummer.

I added more red paint to make the blood pools. Fun!

I am still working on my second canvas featuring the other

two images of the Hatter and the Red Queen.

They are both so awesome!!!!

Anna Marine's Captivated by Silence

Martha Stewart dp, Wild Orchid and Recollections fleurs,

and some killer webbed ribbon from Hambo.

I colored her in with Copics and then used TH Distress Inks to paint

the background.

I could use some more practice coloring black hair.

I do like the color scheme and the non-cartoony feel for a change.

I feel so grown up!

I have been trying all week long to make something

uber creative and awesome for the final challenge of October

over at Haunted Design House.

The challenge is "Heinously Haunted Houses".

I live in a house that I have decorated and staged to

give the appearance of hauntedness all year long.

I prefer, "Apothecary Chic".

Just your everyday mantle decor.

I am eclectic in my tastes and I collect a little (or a lot) of everything!

The framed print is one of my newest acquisitions.

It is a signed and numbered print from the brilliant artist,

Leontine Greenberg.

It is a painting of a Skeksis from The Dark Crystal.

Mmmmmm? Hmmmm?

I adore this piece!

I surrounded it with other birds like my

Tar Phoenix from The Shadow Farm, and other various

vultures and crows.

This was a birthday gift from a dear friend who "gets me".

Mister Cranium will reside on my counter all year long.

The cookies however, will not. Yum!

I have posted photos of my home in the past and thought this

might be considered a cop-out for the challenge, so I kept on brain storming.

And I even ruined a few perfectly good projects.

I think my mojo has left the building.

So I returned to a project I was working on earlier this

year, but never got around to actually finishing.

A nice little "Welcome" plaque for your foyer or front door.

This is a completely handmade plaque.

The coffin shape is cut from MDF board, and then sanded and

base coat painted with black acrylic.

I then hand sculpted a Vampyr skull out of polymer clay

to embellish the plaque.

I also fashioned a fang from poly clay and added it to the piece as well.

I am pretty happy with how it turned out, but that hand painting of the

swirls and the "Velcome" was a serious challenge for me.

I guess I need to paint free hand more for the practice.

I do plan to make more and put some for sale in my Etsy shop.

Thanks for sticking with me this long.

I will be back with new projects in the coming days

as the Minions are taking a well deserved break from the weekly

challenges at HDH to focus on new projects for the coming Hexmas.

Happy Pagan Holiday!!

I made it through yet, another holiday season.

Seems like my old, tired ass really fell behind this last week.

Not enough 5 Hour Energy drinks in my system I guess.

I did manage to finally make something with this awesome

digi image from Hannah Lynn.

I think I bought this one right off her Etsy site.

Isn't she lovely?

And now for some light reading on this Hallows Eve.

I think both of these are from 2010.

I found these at a swap meet this past summer.

One of them is from 1973 and the other one is from 1989.

Pumpkinhead and a documented fail

Well I am usually not one to take photographic evidence

of one of my failed craft projects. I usually just can it and

act as if it never happened.

This one is more of a cautionary tale because I don't want

others to make the same mistakes and experience the same

frustration without proper warning.

I was at Michael's last year around this time, and picked up

a couple of those "do it yourself" vinyl toy kits.

One a Frankenstein, and the other, a Pumpkinhead.

"Perfect!", thought I, as I struggled with this week's MM challenge

at the Haunted Design House.

The kit comes with stickers and permanent markers. I decided to

fore go the included cheapo markers and use my awesome Copics!

Epic fail for me. Boo.

The markers stayed tacky and then once I started using the black marker

it was all down hill from there.

In frustration, I sprayed the figure with alcohol and watched it melt.

Totally stained from the Copics, I decided to try and paint the figure

with acrylic paints. LOTS of coats of acrylic paint.

No more failed photos taken at this point, but it looks better

than the Copic catastrophe.

So I opted for clay.

The mighty Pumpkinhead sits amongst the

debris of his anger and hungers for revenge!

I don't know how he actually kills, as he has no arms

or a mouth, but I'm spent this week.

You figure it out.

Wretched Wednesday - Pumpkinhead

This week's Macabre Monday challenge is

Movie Madness: Pumpkinhead.

Now I totally grew up on the horror of the 70's and the 80's.

I remember the teenage neighbors coming home from the

theater after seeing the original Friday the 13th. I begged them for

details and then went around to all of my friends acting as if I had

actually seen the movie myself. What a little poseur. Ha!

Even though the film "Pumpkinhead" was a flop when it was

released back in 1988, it has gone on and attained cult status

in today's pop culture.

With my mojo being on reserve these days, I did manage to

come up with something kinda cool.

This is a work in progress. Hopefully, I can get it finished

tonight. The Copics that I used to color this guy with are very

sticky right now. And the markers don't blend worth a turd on this

plastic either. Hmmm. I'm already vested here, so it's too late

to start something new.

I do have pretty good turd polishing abilities, so stay tuned.

I haven't totally been resting on my laurels.
Where are my laurels exactly?

I did make some new skulls.
These are way cooler than my old skulls.
I am making these into magnets, pendants, and using them as
embellishments on my new coffin plaques.

I finally made a card with the Sweet and Toxic set from

The Greeting Farm.

LOVE how her hair turned out!

I made this one using a Sweet Pea image that I got from Teri.

I also used one of my handmade embellishments

to finish off this bow.

Nice, right?

And then we have some shots from my mantle.

I LOVE decorating with artwork from friends and other

Etsy artisans! The painting is from my dearest Minion Sister,

Andrea and the monster in a straight jacket is from

Michell at Covington Creations.

More cool schtuff from friends and some

home made apothecary jars and bottles.

Maker's Mark bottles are the best, but not cheap.

Here is a shelf in my hutch. Don't mind the dust.

I've got a couple kaleidoscopes, a hookah pipe, a handmade

pewter chalice with Dragon and crystal, a hand carved cup of Pan,

and some photos of Grandma.

My favorite and first Gryphon statue, a Disney Villains snow globe,

and some other dusty treasures.

Here are some of my most treasured Nightmare collectibles.

Killer Disney snow globe from like 12 (or more) years ago,

Sally and Jack mini snow globes, a jar of Worm's Wart, and another

Lock, Shock and Barrel snow globe.

I sprinkled in some of my and my son's Hallowe'en clay art for good

measure.

Hallowe'en Blog Candy

It is hard to believe that Hallowe'en is almost upon us!

Seems like yesterday I was thinking I had better get

started on my projects for the coming holiday.

That was in June. I still have numerous unfinished

projects. Next year. They'll still be there for next year.

Anyhoo,

I have been quite fortunate over the past year or two,

and I have been a blog candy weiner, random draw weiner,

and a witty comment weiner quite a few times here in Blogland.

Whoa, it has been a while since I have posted

anything lately.

I have been very busy filling orders of brains and skulls

and jack-o lanterns. Oh my!

It is a good thing, BUT I miss playing, willy nilly, on whatever

I want, when I want. I am an artiste!!! I am not a trick pony!!

Okay, now that I got that out of the way,

"I vant to show you somethink".

Despite my lack of posts, I am still making cards and Hallowe'en thangs.

I finally used "Fred and Ginger" from Kraftin' Kimmie.

I paired it with some MS papers from last year's "Vampire" line.

I think the drips are from MS as well.

And now I will take full credit for these goofy assed eyes!

I thought it was going to look more,

"Look into my eyes and worship me",

but ended up

"Damn these eyes!" LOL!

I am not one to throw away a goofed up image, so I made it work.

Man, I thought this day would never get here!

And then again, I could have used another day or two

to finish all of my intended projects.

Anyhoo!

ZOMBIES are a favorite of mine and have been since I first

caught the Zombie contagion back in the 80's.

"Return of the Living Dead" was and still is, my all-time

favorite Zombie movie, with "Fido" running a close second.

I was always just a fan of Zombies until a couple of months ago.

I decided to start creating my own Zombies.

Not only that, but I was going to do it in an Eco friendly manner.

I started perusing the local thrift shops in search of

unsuspecting statuary that could use a new paint job.

This was my first creation.

Who can't help but smile at a ZomBuddha?

Since then I have made quite a few pieces and have sold

some of them in my Etsy shop.

I have been acquiring some awesome new pieces

just for this Zombie Walk and now I am ready to

unleash my creations on the world

(or Blogger at least)!

Bound FOREVER in death.

Another scene and some Zombie info

I have tapped into my "Mojo Vein",

and am having a blast creating with the new

"Mini Monztas" from Make it Crafty.

The challenge over at Haunted Design House

this week is to make a Hallowe'en scene.

This week's sponsor at HDH is Make it Crafty,

and since I was already on a roll with the little cuties

(Yes! I did just say that!) I decided to make yet another

Hallowe'en scene.

I used the Frankenstein, the Bride of Frankie,

and the Headless Horseyman for this framed scene.

I used the graveyard scene for the background,

also from Make it Crafty.

I used a re purposed frame from the thrift shop, painted it black,

and then added metallic silver and purple paint with my finger

to the raised details. I really like how it turned out.

I also left Frankie outside of the frame since he covered too much

of the background with is giant bolts.

It kinda looks like he's been replaced by the Headless Horseman.

Those reanimated brides can be so fickle!

I have to admit that I originally colored the Bride as a ghost.

I never caught on to her being the Bride until I was putting her

into the frame. Duh!

I colored the background in cool grays and then added some

V000, V01,V12 and a little RV000. Then I Stickled the bejeezus

out of all the edges where sparkly moonlight may fall.

That's alot of sparkle.

Lastly, I drew in a huge moon and colored it in with

more of the same Violet Copics. I'm not real sure that

it translates well here, but it does look pretty cool in real life.

Now I said something about Zombies didn't I?

Well this Friday is the Virtual Day of the Dead if you will.

This Friday you can zombie walk with those of us who love

and admire the ZOMBIE, from the comfort of your own home.

What a great way to kick off the coming season!!

All of the participant bloggers are spotlighting some sort

of Zombie themed project, artwork, story, make-up application,

Wretched Wednesday HDH108 You're Making a Scene!!!

Horrific Hump Day Haunters!!!

Can you feel the crispness in the air yet?

I can't. We're still flirting with the 90's here in California,

but I am getting a bit giddy with all of the Hallowe'en decorations

out in the stores.

A little retail therapy really helped my mojo this week.

I kinda went cwazy on this challenge.

HDH are challenging you to make a Hallowe'en inspired scene

for this week's Macabre Monday.

We are very fortunate to be sponsored by

Make it Crafty.

Since I am to lazy too make a step card, I decided to make a really

a labor intensive project instead. Using a thrift store frame,
lots of card board, some MS punches, lots of glitter and Spica pens,

and some awesome MIC digis, I have created a great scene!!

Okay, first I painted the thrift store frame with black, silver, and

purple acrylic paints. I used black as the base coat and then

used a dry brush technique to apply the silver and purple paints.

While that was drying, I colored in the Mini Monztas from MIC

using Copics. After fussy cutting the images I used a Spica pen to

go around the outside of the images for some Vampiric sparkle.

Now let's not forget that Haunted House! That detailed baby was

quite a work out! LOTS of details!!!!

I had to get out the magnifying specs for that one!

I layered in some QuicKutz and Martha Stewart graveyard

punches togive more depth to the scene.

I even managed to pop in a teeny tiny skull on one of the headstones!

I popped everything up on corrugated cardboard in varying thicknesses.

I topped off both of my Vampyres with Glossy Accents.

It makes them a bit more sturdy, especially the little

lady since she is outside of the glass.

I love this house image!!!

I Stickled the windows to make them sparkle,

and outlined the entire house in Sakura Stardust pen.

I also added some rhinestones. More sparkles!

I think this will make a nice addition to my Hallowe'en

decorations this year.

Appalling Apothecary

The Macabre Monday challenge at HDH this week is

Appalling Apothecary.

I have been compiling my own Apothecary collection on

my mantle for about a year or so now.

I have some antique books, some specimen bugs, candles,

and creepy bits and bobs.

I have taken pictures of my mantle before, so I wanted to

show you something totally new.

I got this awesome little cabinet for my birthday.

My friends are finally catching on as to how easy I am to shop for.

Thrift store finds are my favorites!!!

I took all nine of my Tim Holtz corked vials and

transformed them into bottles of various tinctures,

poisons, and remedies.

I printed out a bunch of poison labels I had been

saving for just such a project. I glued them on the bottles

and placed them on the shelves in an eye pleasing manner.

I also added some of my miniature sculptures from my personal

collection to fill in the blank spots.

Happy Belated Birthday Teri

Yesterday was a special day.

It was my Sister Minion's Birthday.

I forgot.

So today is officially,

"Kiss Teri's Arse Day".

I made Teri this pretty card to match her sparkling personality.

I cut up some Spellbinder shapes as an homage to Teri's

brilliance with modifying Spellbinders.

I used this awesome Sweet Pea image thinking it was

just Steampunkish enough for Teri's discerning taste.

I Stickled and Stardusted the image to make it sparkle,

but the camera never seems to see it.

Teri is awesome and probably the most mature minded

of the HDH bunch.

She has a wonderfully thriving digi business called,

Delicious Doodles,

where she is the sole artist and creator.

Envy (also called invidiousness) is best defined as an emotion that

"occurs when a person lacks another's (perceived) superior quality,

achievement, or possession and either desires it

or wishes that the other lacked it."

This week's HDH challenge of

The Seven Deadly Sins

has proven to be just that, a challenge.

I have scrapped two projects already and am less than pleased with
my current offering. I am being a weak ticket and I am offering up
this stunning array of awesomeness to feast your eyes upon

in an invidious manner.

I shall be farting my very own brand of bone dust this Friday,

when I turn into a 'forty-something'. Boo hiss!

Okay, I can't stand the sound of my own (internal) braggart's voice

So I am still crushing on my new

soul sistah, Michele Covington.

She is the mastermind behind some of the most

detailed, unique, and whimsical sculptures I

have ever laid my discerning eyes on!

I am a huge weiner and I am proud!!!

So, I follow quite few blogs that have something to do with

Hallowe'en or horror. One of my favorites is

Freddy in Space.

The cool guy who runs the show over there is John,

but the lady behind the masked man is named Jen.

She is very important to my

winning an awesome prize(s) from their recent giveaway.

I love me some True Blood. Russel Talbot and Pam are my

favorite characters, but as far as the beefcake goes,

Alcide gets my vote!

Now Freddy in Space wanted to know who the most romantic

character was on the show and why. I chose Alcide for his hotness

and the fact that he is/was so loyal to

Disco (I have bad veneers) Debby, and his heroism.

Tres romantique!

Now it was Jen's job to choose a winning submission from the over

100 entries, and she is so cool that she chose mine!

I have never read the Sookie Stackhouse books since I started

watching the show, so it looks like I'm going to start.

Roddy McDowell is one of my favorite character actors of all time.

Ever since The Planet of the Apes films, and then as Peter Vincent

in Fright Night 1 and 2, I have enjoyed Mr McDowall's

performances. His birthday is also a day after mine.

Virgos rule! Great trading card!

There is always a need for a' grow in a jar' Dracula and a

killer sucker to break your fangs on! Unless they

are the cool rubbery ones like I got in my prize pack.

I am in a hurry to get this posted so I can

get this card submitted to

The Octopode Factory Friday challenge of

"Stripes"!!!

I used the "Pumpkin Boy" the "Sun" and the banner

from the "Skull and Roses" digi, all from

The Octopode Factory.

I hand wrote the question onto the banner.

It was going to take too long to set it on the computer.

I shredded the ends of the ribbon to look a bit shabby

and give the card some texture.

I hope I'm not too late for the challenge at Octopode,

but if I am, I'm also entering this at

Graphicat Sketches challenge.

I used one of Cheri's awesome sketches to help move this little

doggie along. I can sit for far too long just trying to get a layout right.

Wretched Wednesday HDH105 P.M.S.

Who would have thought that mere initials

would strike fear in the hearts of men?

Silly mortals!

This week's Macabre Monday challenge is

P.M.S. - Psychotic Miss Silver.

Why? What were you thinking?

I kind of had a hard time with this challenge.

Seems simple enough, just use a crazy chick

and something silver.

It took me a while, but once I found my muse

(also known as "Karin" from Stampotique),

I decided to make something other than a card.

Once I got "Karin" all colored and UTEE'd a few times,

I mounted her onto a black card stock scalloped circle.

Then, for my ultimate destash, I used a

Leeza Gibbons silver rope frame I picked up

years ago at Big Lots! for a $1.00.

I have two more frames in smaller sizes that may need their

own Stampotique images as well.

Anyhoo, a little (LOTS!) glue and some complimentary colored

ribbon, and we have ourselves an orny-mint! Yay!

There is still plenty of time to play along

with this week's challenge at Haunted Design House!!

Also I wanted to say a heartfelt, "Thank you" to Ike from Greece.

She not only was so awesome to have created this killer

piece of art, but she was also generous enough to send it to me!!

She entered this in a Magnolia challenge blog

and they removed it. Some people just can't take a joke.

I am not a fan of the Tilda character, so I got quite a kick out

of this awesome art piece! Tons of details and dimension.

I will be framing it tomorrow and hanging it up in my craft

room for all to admire and adore!

Just for grins

I am back today with a new card that

I am very proud of.

I have used the "Gargoyles of Notre Dame" image from

the Crafts and Me line of Jasmine Becket-Griffith art.

I intended to enter this card in the Crafts and Me challenge this week

of "Adding a Charm", but I didn't wanna add a charm after I got this far.

I like it the way it is.

I also broke out with a new item for me.

It's a metal die from Tickled Pink,

and this is the Hallowe'en stamp set that goes with it.

I still need some practice getting everything straight, but it's

still way cool! LOVE the artwork on this!!!

Here's a close-up of this killer image and her awesome wings!

I had fun coloring her with a new (to me) technique that is

Wretched Wednesday HDH104- I Was Framed!

Happy haunted hump day!

I am here to amaze and inspire you to play along with us this week for

HDH's Macabre Monday "I was framed!" challenge.

The challenge is very simple, use a frame or frames

in your project. Easy right?

I decided to use the Voodoo Doll #3 image after much deliberation.

There are so many neat, odd, and unique images to chose from

on the Dilly Beans site!

Now isn't he a handsome one?!

I opted for the dot technique after I picked up the

wrong shade of BV to add some shading to his nose.

I went way too dark, but managed to salvage the image with some

strategically placed textural dots. Nice save!

I used some of the awesome new Tim Holtz Kraft Resist

Hallowe'en paper along with some old scraps I needed

to use up. The Corpse Dust label was part of a digital collage

sheet I bought on Etsy a few years ago.

And then there's these guys.

The March of the Candy Corns has begun!!!

These little guys are in need of homes.

Creepy Cool Yule

The concept of making holiday cards all year long

is one that makes perfect sense. How nice to have all

of your cards ready to mail by Dec. 1st., as opposed

to making cards right up until Xmas eve?

Been there, done that.

There is a cool blog called,

"Christmas Stampin All Year Long",

and they have weekly challenges to help inspire you

to create your holiday cards throughout the year.

I haven't really played along much, since the

thought of dragging out my Christmas supplies

before Hallowe'en is sort of blasphemous in my mind.

But...

I managed to combine the two, and created this

killer little holiday card.

I used a creepy, stitched up elf image from

Dilly Beans Stamps.

I used some vellum and an EK web punch, some Stickles,

and some matching ribbon. The dp was already sparkly, so

it all played nice together. I colored the main image in a

monochromatic color scheme (using G82, 94, and 99) so I could

play along at CSAYL this week with their mono outbreak.

HDH103 Carnival of CuRioSiTieS

I'm finally here with my submission for this week's

Macabre Monday challenge,

"Carnival of CuRioSiTieS".

It all started with a hoarded pop corn bag.

"Hello, my name is Gloria, and I am a hoarder."

I have had that pop corn bag for a few years. A local gift

shop uses these for their purchase bags and I knew it would

come in handy some day.

These lovely bottles and jars are from an "Itkupilli"

digital collage sheet. So cool!!

I got pretty fancy here, using a repurposed net bag

as a curtain, and then covering my staples with a

edge punched scrap of the pop corn bag.

I'll just go ahead and bust myself out and tell you

I totally stapled the top of my card shut when I added my fancy

punched valance at the top. Nice.

I also added a Recollections glittery spider web and some

fancy beaded things from Wild Orchid to give the

illusion of a spray of bubbles and beverage coming

from the weird bottle of creepiness.

And then we have "Kolossal" from

Stampotique Stamps.

She is perfect as a side show barker dontcha think?

I am new to the awesome digis from

Dilly Beans.

I am a fan. A big fan.

This is the "Dunce Cap Skellies" image.

Saw it. Had to have it.

Fun to color, but I kinda blew it on the "shiny" parts. I used a white

gel pen that decided to take a nap on me and stopped working about

halfway through. I ended up using glitter to help camouflage the shiny bits.

I used the banner die from My Favorite Things and hand wrote the

happy birthday. Wish I had thought to typeset it before the cutting,

but oh well.
